I really like the design of first half of 70s Datsuns, 70s British Leylands (especially the Jaguars, with the exception of the E-Type) and modern BMWs.
yes, I have the wagon back and the regular back but no soft top, it could be called an NX, a Pulsar, or an EXA canopy ver. depending on who you ask
The Skoda Favorit. At first glance, it just looks like a mediocre late 80s car, but HOLD UP! First of all, it's lightweight, which is very nice for cars before goodies like the MX-5 and the Integra. For a small engine, it seems like a regular cheap car that looks regular, but performs good. Another good one is this is actually Skoda's first modern car at the time, even being a collab with VW. It's also a good budget car for rallies and tuning, and I like how it's actually more reliable than a modern Prius. This is a good cheap and reliable Czech car, and you would probably agree with me, if you know about this/researched about this car.
The favorit wasnt made with vw the engine was the only thing not made by themselves it was made with porsche as far as i know
The engine in the Favorit/Forman was an evolution of the long lasting 4cyl engine installed on most rear-engined Skodas of old. Porsche just helped with suspension tuning. On the other hand, it's replacement, the Felicia, was developed under full-control of the VAG group and featured some VW-sourced engines.
Engines from Volkswagen were actually very heavy because they were made from cast iron and Felicias with diesel engine from Volkswagen were known for after some time haveing wider track at front than from standard because the weight of the engine was wery high but the body was engineered for light all aluminium Skoda engines witch were tested for 800000km. And Favorit is very good car, it has problems with rust but what car from 80s and 90s (apart from Peugeot 405) does not have problems with rust it handles wery well and repair and parts are (at least in Czech) very cheap and simple
we had two felicias but none of them lasted up to 80k because one had an accident and the other one had to be sold because it was too small for us so we bought a first gen octavia wich we had till 2013 and would have kept it longer if it would have been worth more
First generation j-bodies. Can't get enough of those cars! 1994-1998 mustang. I say this because it seems most people here hate mustangs... 1971-1973 Chevrolet vega. 1992-1998 Pontiac grand am 1978-1983 Dodge Challenger/Plymouth sapporo. And last but not least... chevrolet beretta.
Another one's the Pontiac Montana. Way much better as a replacement for the Trans Am, with a SV6 engine, which seems like a interesting idea. Also, it's latest models look pretty good for a mid-2000s Pontiac/Minivan.
I've just seen the Doug Demuro video on the Pontiac Aztek, I didn't know the car was that well thought, even being ugly I quite like it now ^^
And... While often manufacturers made a great deal out of these collaborations with Porsche (most of you are probably too young to remember the crappy "System Porsche" engines in the 1st gen. SEAT Ibiza...), there was zero involvement from "Porsche Motors AG.", the manufacturer of sportscars we all know... "Porsche" here is the "Porsche Engineering Studio", a spun-off consulting firm best known for designing secondary components for just about everyone... and this thing:
