This is my first vehicle, so I would like to get everyone's truthful opinion.

I am making a 1980's pickup truck with the jBeam based off of Gabester's D15. (I have permission)

At the current time, I have the body shell with basic wheels, mirrors, headlights, and taillights.

    What I have done:

    Outer Shell
    Tires
    Head and Taillights
    Chassis

I will soon begin work on:

    Making more rims
    Remoddeling mirrors
    More underbody parts
    Interior
    Better bumpers

    jbeam update

    and more!

All ideas, comments, and suggestions are welcome! :)

It is way too basic. It's like a truck you could fold a piece of paper to make. You can't really critique a 50 poly model.

    Thanks for the response.

This is just the first time I felt it was even enough to render. Much more coming, which will be much more advanced.

Ok. That sounds good. I thought you were just gonna put it in game as-is. It's a good start, though.;)

Thanks. And no, I wouldn't put it in game like this. This is just a base, something for me to continuously add on to ;)

I'm going to fix up the underbody now.

    -Update-

I have added doorhandles, including one for the tailgate.

I also added the plastic piece that goes in the bed and fixed some issues with the headlights.

I also added more shape to the hood.

    Pictures soon.

Yeah, it could use more details. Lines in the hood maybe? I think it'd be really cool if it had a detailed interior, running gear, and engine.

It will have all of those. I just started today. But since my weeks are hectic, expect work only on weekends and holidays :(

I will improve exterior a little more and then start interior as well since I like having 2 projects at a time. (Int and ext)

I think you should create new jbeam instead of basing it off the D-15, it's a simple model so creating jbeam for it wouldn't be hard at all. Take a look at the busfag for example.

It'd probably be harder basing it off the D-15, you'd need to remove a lot of stuff and re-position it all which is a hassle and it can get confusing.

Starting fresh would be the better option :)

I will consider that when I get to the JBeam. Right now I am cleaning up the model. After that I will start either editing or creating the jBeam while working on the interior. :)

Looking good so far. Bit boxie but not to bad. What engines will this beast have? I think something funney like a 0.5 2cyl A 0.8 3cyl And a Few 4s Like a 1.5 and 1.8 with turbo ( If you want them ). The cab looks long. Like a space cab?. When you're done i can make a rusty car skin for you. :) Keep up the work on this cool tuck. :)

Heres some pics: The renders aren't the best quality, but it shows you what I've done.

Due to the quality of the renders, the shape of the body looks very similar to the old renders. Its not in the model.

Also, I included a render of the bed because I added some detailed parts to it. If those aren't visible in the render, I'm sorry.

Let me know what you think.

Then why do you make renders if they hide details etc? Just take a screenshot of your 3d view.
It´s hard to see pics anyway because they are too small.

Also you might want to tilt the pillars a bit. ;)
