If you look at videos of supercars, they don't sound that muffled. Yea, my sounds are pretty loud, but again, that is how it is in real life.
usually supercars or tuned cars have muffler delete or aftermarket exhaust, a regular state inspected car is not very loud at all, it's only after the inspection that the tuner community removes the cats and other flow restricting things to make the car louder
When making comparison videos, please make sure to actually use stock sounds, that turbo flutter sound really doesn't belong there... People might get a wrong impression otherwise. Thank you
It's a placeholder. As said already, this is only the first or multiple audio updates. It will get proper sound in future updates.
I would agree with you if it wasn't supercars. However, even with mufflers, supercars and muscle cars will still be really loud. Civilian cars definitely are effected by mufflers, and my sounds in my pack reflect that, although it is not perfect. But when you got high powered engine, they going to be loud no matter what muffler you put on it. I noticed that after the fact, sorry about that. It still stand that the sounds need to be a lot more crisp, and clearer.
I don't really agree. Your sound for all these cars is good, but the ETK sound is nothing like an inline-6 engine (which the devs have replicated perfectly) and the sounds for the Bolide and SBR4 are accurate to the engine types, but nowhere near as good (quality wise) as the stock sounds. The sounds the devs made IMO are far superior to any sound pack, even if they are a little too muffled (which will be sorted in future updates) To be honest most sound mods for this game sound like lawnmowers on crack recorded through a vuvuzela
i wouldn't mind the place holder if there was no popping sounds with it. same goes with any sound that has popping with it.
I also want to bring the issue up about the vehicles sounding the same. Why is it that the Pessima sound just like the ETK 800 although they are made not only by different manufactures, but vastly different years? This also happens with the Burnside, Barstow, and Moonhawk. I hope this is only temporary, as that just doesn't make any sense.
there are only two V8 noises at the moment, the new one (Gavril V8's) that sound like a hoover at high revs and the old one which fits the barstow and burnside and moonhawk well but isnt the best on the bolide
Here's one of the many reasons why multiple engine sounds should be supported: jbeam only engine swaps are so easy because of this.
I think the sounds are pretty good but some are a little off or muffled. But I know they will be improved in the future so not much to say about that.
This is not exactly true. The WIP BeamNG sounds are generally quite good at replicating the sounds of different engines from inside the car or from the front of the car, but from the back many of them are missing the higher pitched exhaust notes that can be found on most cars, hence why everything sounds so muffled. If you own a car and have someone to help you, you can hear this for yourself by getting someone to rev your car's engine while you stand outside near the exhausts. You should be able to hear the noise of your engine as well as the exhaust notes. Otherwise, listen to this video of a Nissan GTR accelerating away from an intersection and note the higher-pitch "warble" that can be heard from the car. Compared to the SBR4, the sound is a lot richer even with a stock exhaust.
This is what I was trying to say about my soundpack. Although my sounds aren't perfect, they are much more realistic than the stock sounds, but everyone shot me down, without actually looking at the facts. Thanks for bringing this up.
