I have been having issues when playing BeamNG, after about 10 minutes I end up with a black screen and a loud buzzing sound. According to what I have read on some other sites there is a problem that AMD know about and either can't or won't do anything about as it is caused by a problem in the game itself.

I am using an AMD HD7850 which replaced a slightly smaller Nvidia card a couple of years ago as they are incompatible with DTG Train Sim (which went into my sister's HP Compaq).

I have had no issues in other games but I have read this card is supposed to be compatible with BeamNG is there a patch to enable it to work with this kind of graphics card.

That's weird, I used to have a Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 OC Edition 2 Go and I'm playing Beam.NG since the very beginning ...
Like everyone would say : Delete all the Nvedia Drivers and Reinstall the AMD ones

I'm playing BeamNG with a 2nd HD7850 card (first one died about half a year ago) and so far I had 0 issues so far over the span of 4 years. I'd recommend trying what KamikazeF0X suggested.

I don't have Nvidia drivers installed as the card is an AMD which has up to date drivers installed.

Does your entire system goes into a black screen with loud buzzing sound, or you can still exit the game and return to Windows normally?
If the first, that sounds like a system-wide problem (perhaps broken drivers, or worse, hardware problems).

Can you see what happens if you launch the game from:

(If you have the game on Steam) : Steam/Steamapps/Common/BeamNG.Drive/Bin32 > BeamNG.Drive.x86.exe
    (If Humble Bundle) : <GameFolder> /Bin32 > BeamNG.Drive.x86.exe

And let know if the same problem persists there.

I don't know if it will happen again if I launch it that way but it seems it may be causing damage every time it happens (last time it refused to restart). Manually throttling the GPU has managed to keep it cool so far.

@VolvoB10M I would listen to Nadeox1 he knows his stuff about this game so listen to him and see if it happens again and then we can narrow down the list of faults to one that is causing the issue, what are the other specifications on your computer so we know what system spec we are dealing with here

I found some videos on YouTube about the same issue people have been having in a variety of games and they suggested editing the graphics profile in the AMD manager by reducing the performance and setting the fan speed to high in order to stop it from overheating. I managed to get a decent amount of hours after modifying the graphics profile but unfortunately doing so has caused me to receive a VAC ban (I assume Steam noticed the AMD manager running and assumed it was cheat helper software).

    What even.
I thought you could get a VAC ban on games that used VAC in first place.
BeamNG.drive does not use VAC (not to mention it's not even an online game, so..)
I advice to contact the Steam support if you want to sort that VAC thing out.

I am definatley going to have to contact them, I now also have problems with an OMSI 2 DLC just disappearing off my hard drive after installing sound mods from a reputable modder.

    Thanks for the support.

I can't find any means of contact for support, the game is not showing up in the library but when I go through the support section on the steam store it says they were asked to remove the game from my account by the developers. I have not yet had an explanation as to why they have done this so I can only assume it was done automatically.

    Are you referring to OMSI?
Did you buy it from Steam itself, or one of those 'grey' markets?
If Steam, you definitively need to ask for explanations, since you spent your money on a product (especially if they did not refund you)
If a 'grey' market, you need to contact that shop. You need to be careful with some of them, as some sell keys bought in fraudulent ways in there. It's not a new thing that some developers will disable keys that appear to be stolen (more info: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2...bisoft-is-going-after-third-party-key-sellers )

Anyhow, this is the 'generic' link to access the Steam support page:

Everything was bought from steam except the base game of OMSI (which still works fine) which was purchased through the Aerosoft store.
