There is an IRC channel. I also had a PM asking about skype, but I dont use skype. I don't care if all the cool people are on skype as they put it (I'm guessing that means there is a skype channel), I just hate skype and had no end of problems with CPU usage and steam crashing while I had skype installed.
skype seems to be like minecraft in terms of how it works, as ive never had any of those problems you just listed personally, always 0% to 10% cpu usage, and steam never crashes (also, there isnt one, the op is asking if we can create one, which we wont, as they tried that on the rigs of rods forums, it didnt end well)
On my old P4 desktop running at 3.5ghz it never dropped below 50% CPU usage when idle and consistently crashed steam. On my Athlon 2 triple core at 3.4ghz it idles at 40% and consistently crashes steam whenever someone messages me. On my 1.8ghz dual core i3 laptop it decided to idle at a more acceptable 15% usage, still caused steam to crash. I entirely gave up with it. The windows 8 app actually works though, but I dont even want to touch it. However. I highly recommend *against* going in the IRC. Rude assholes.
I decided to hop into the IRC a little more to see if it was just a bad start I had. I have firmly concluded that no, you should absolutely not visit the IRC channel unless you want to be a victim of targetted abuse often endorsed or participated in by the operators who's responsibility is to prevent such a thing from happening. Nor is it a case of someone joking around, on several occasions now I have witnessed what is not just people joking around, its full bullying. There were a few genuinely cool guys in there, but vastly outnumbered by those who can only be described as assholes.
Sounds like an un-fair assumption. I would like to know if this was specifically in #BeamNG? I doubt it was.
The problem with what you said sixsixsevenseven is the channel you were in when all of that took place was a channel not associated with beamng, it is where regular IRC users hang out where the rules are a lot more relaxed. the #beamng channel itself is fine and there are a lot of rules there to stop from the "bullying" you are talking about.
According to other people and my logs, you never said anything in #beamng and was never talked to in #beamng... You were talking in #offtopic, which isn't connected to any game at all... If you need logs, feel free to contact me, and I'll provide about a week's worth of logs.
