I would argue time and time again that it's been proven that the 1600X can push the frame rates required for a 144hz. Will the game look as pretty? No. However, in a competitive setting looks mean absolutely nothing. So I still wouldn't buy into the i5 line. But I agree that Intel does still have a place in the market for those who just "want it to work". However, the only Intel CPU I'll still turn people to is the locked i3. But your concerns and preferences are valid.
It seems absolutely wrong to have an AMD PC but have McAfee installed because McAfee is owned by Intel.
I know that, but I can't seem to get it off. It's annoying because it always leeches my system resources.
There's probably a couple guides on the internet that will show how to do a really solid job of uninstalling it. Some AV software can be a pain, some may even require you to go to their website to download an uninstallation utility.
My iphone 5s makes clicking noises when I press the screen moderately hard. Hard enough that you can tap a app. I would love to get some advice on how to fix it because the apple store probably will make fun of me.
I doubt they will make fun of you, since they will probably be wanting to charge you extortionate amounts of money to fix it. There are other phone repair shops that may do it cheaper, nott sure how they effect warranty. iFixIt tends to be pretty good when it comes to repair guides.
I now have 4 monitors that have can have a different OS on each monitor! Also, there are some phones, an echo dot, and other laptops/computers/devices that I was to lazy to find. (I know this is only 3, I was to lazy to go downstairs and find the other craptop) Also, I have 4 AIs listening to me: Google Assistant (Normal Phone), Cortana (My Rig), Alexa (Echo Dot), and Siri (MacBook Pro)
if you have a Windows 10 device with a Clover trail Intel Atom APU you may want to consider downgrading to Windows 8.1 (or go the Linux route if your device has supported components) so you can continue to get security updates. Microsoft has removed compatibility for these devices with a Win10 update and as such they will only continue to get Win10 security updates for 18 months. Whereas on Win 8.1 they will continue to get security updates for the full lifespan of that OS. Apparently its support is being discontinued because of the PowerVR graphics chipset Intel decided to use, issue is that devices with this hardware will in some cases be only 2-3 years old before OS support is ended. Which is pretty crappy. Source: https://arstechnica.co.uk/information-technology/2017/07/windows-10-support-device-lifetime/
oh yeah i have the i5 4690k, shame the 4c/4t limitation has come upon me so fast, like the intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 lasted me a good few years, but this Core i5 simply hasn't delivered compared to the core 2 quad, the 4c limitations are way easier to find than it was a couple of years ago, and simply intel hasn't caught up with this growing thread game, glad AMD is adressing the 8c setup.
Well if we are going down that route my parents were running a single core Pentium 4 in 2013. I was running a single core Pentium 2 300mhz (with nvidia TNT2, 4GB hard drive and 64mb of RAM) CPU in 2011 (however I used the main family computer a lot because it had a beastly Pentium 4 in it which was a bit of a monster in Sim City 4 and RoR due to single threaded prowess ). Equally, both were getting a little long in the tooth by their demise --- Post updated --- Microsoft is giving away a load of Ebooks for free relating to their own services including Azure, Windows, Development and so on. So if you are wanting to learn how to use any MS products, knock yourselves out... https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/ms...wer-bi-azure-windows-8-1-office-2013-sharepo/
A bit late now, but thank you to VeyronEB and BombBoy4 for their recommendations on GPU's. I ended up going for a superclocked 1050 ti a few months ago, and it's been working quite well.
I believe a manufacturer of the PCs containing the chips released a statement saying that new firmware is being developed which will put the computers back on track. Still, be cautious.
Neat, there has also been an update to that story on Ars stating that MS is actually going to give them 5 years security support too, which is far more decent of them.
I'm done. I've been trying to get into Linux, but Windows keeps locking me out. First I tried Ubuntu. It worked like a charm, but I don't really like it. Then I tried Manjaro. Won't even boot off the drive, and I've tried UNETBOOTIN, Rufus, UUI, and LiveLinux Creator. Safe boot is off, and OS is set to other. Then I tried Antergos. Same end as Manjaro. Then OpenSUSE. Same as Antergos. Finally I tried Solus, which works fine (on a VM, I gave up restarting my PC every 5 minutes to test it out) until I found out it doesn't use apt-get or other commands I know, and I'm not learning another one. There's just no way I can get Linux anymore, is there?
Gosh darn, i've been trying to help my cousin get his HP DC7900 get his sound and we spend 5 hours reinstalling windows, adding drivers, and all it took was to get into the bios and enable integrated audio :|. Every time we added the Radeon 5770, it would make the sound drivers stop. Now his computer is running great and he can step away from Laptop gaming.
I'm thinking of getting an sshd soon, any thoughts? I really want to decrease load times (especially in BeamNG.drive and Doom).
How big should it be? Because if its only around 500gb a ssd is better over that the sshd comes into play
