i think in the menu when the game is released there should be 2 options:

one with realistic stuff like: gas level (gas stations maybe?) and breaking/blown engines. stuff like that.

another option for simply crashing and messing around. like rigs of rods.

There's realistic, then there's anal retentive. Managing gas for a demolition derby/racing type game strikes me as going into the type of detail that turns things from fun to monotonous. You'll understand what I'm on about when you have to buy your own gas for your own car.

It's entirely possible that someone could add working gas stations and fuel consumption with Lua scripting. But it probably won't be in any official release, at least not as part of the main game.

Wouldn't it be better if you don't hardcode stuff like the car engine, transmission, automatic gearbox so everyone or at least people who have some programming knowledge can design their own engines, transmissions and gearboxes by scripting :)

None of this stuff is hardcoded :) It's all easily editable in Lua.

I wouldn't mind fuel consumption. As much as its trivial, it would add a nother level of realism to the game, especially when taking "Sunday drives". If the level of fuel would affect the vehicle weight, that would be even better.
