Hello all! I decided I should try to make my first mod in Beamng. It's been a while since the RoR days, but I downloaded blender for the first time in a couple years and got to work. My idea behind this mod is a to make a bunch of custom bed options for the D series, like a dovetail bed, bobbed bed, bobbed and dovetailed bed, a dovetailed flatbed, etc. I'm starting with this though, a bed skin that is reminiscent of a prerunner/truggy build. It should be really simple to make, just cut the bottom of the bed out and the bed walls...did that part, packaged the .dae and the .jbeam after looking at examples such as the alternate hopper rollbar and Narwhal's bed liner bed. it goes as follows : Documents\BeamNG.drive\mods\bedskin.zip\vehicles\pickup\bedskin with the bedskin folder containing bedskin.dae and bedskin.jbeam upon booting the game and selecting a map (I have a d15 as the starter vehicle), mid way through loading it throws up an error message reading "Failed to create resource (is the file missing?): game:vehicles/pickup/bedskin/bedskin.dae" I got it to start up once and the bed was already selected but it was just the stock bed. any help is good help, thanks!
I saw that kind of errors with corrupted/wrongly exported .dae files. I'd try to re-export it making sure it's functional by re-importing it in your 3D modelling software.
Nadeox! Thanks man! Glad to see you're a staff member So it worked after re exporting, I got it in game (sadly it replaces the stock bed at the moment) and I already love it. there is some stuff that I'm unhappy with but i have about 15 minutes in it so far.
