Hello, I would like to create road signs for my level and have physics on them, or at the least make them destroyable. So if you run into them, they will fall apart. What is the best way to approach this?
You can use the one that already comes with BeamNG. The same you add a car to a level, just select ROAD SIGN from the list. If you switch to the Road sign (as you would do to drive another car, using TAB) and press CTRL+E you will get the menu with the variants (stop, speed limit, etc.).
Ahhh! kk, thx for the info. I noticed you made some custom physics objects, very nice stuff. Is there a big performance hit with numerous physics objects?
Yes, though you should be able to have several signs without much performance hit. An FPS version of the map with none of the extra objects in place may be a good idea to avoid butthurt from people with lower-end PC's, however.
