I don't know why people are whining about it being AWD, he simply wanted to make a mod that was easy to drive on a keyboard and it is.
Really fun to mess around in this car.

People are just stupid, always whining about someone else his work but too dumb to do it themselves.
Grate mod btw, glad i've downloaded it before you removed it. :(

It's fun to drive around in, but is there any downforce?
I wish there was some way to view the aerodynamic impact on a vehicle.

As counter-intuitive as the answer is... yes. Your mod is impossible because you've got 4wD and the front suspension isn't designed for that, you have no transfer case or anything. However, if I ignored fuel requirements and tune the aerodynamics down to a realistic value, as I suspected they cheated with the drag coefficient, the rocket Bolide works. The rear wheels detonate and it has a take off speed of 608mph

    ss (2013-12-05 at 02.54.07).jpg

and a stable airspeed of 640mph once the front wheels detonate with very twitchy controls. It flew for all of 20 seconds before I stalled it and the aerodynamic forces instantly bent the wings backwards and stripped away a great deal of the car's bodywork.

To be realsitic we need a fuel mass simulation along with some larger airfoils. but its certainly doable.

That's why I created it. :D There is downforce. Way too much downforce in the white-winged version. I fixed it yesterday.

This game has very nice aerodynamic features, when I broke the wing and it got off at 250km/h, I was suddenly a lot faster. Then I spun it and crashed

There still probably won't be a download.

It's pretty sad that people can't keep their comments to themselves (unless they are constructive) But for you to take the download away because of certain people is just as immature as their comments. Man up and put the link back, there are people that like your mod and want to download it.

Although this may be a very simple mod, it is extremely useful. That wing does actually help with the car's performance.

My only suggestions at this point would be to add a front splitter and a rear diffuser. That'd make this even more helpful of a mod to improve the car's handling.

@Above: I have to agree with you there. Even though people are hating on this mod, you shouldn't remove the link. There are still a lot of people who like this mod ;)

I've got no problem with adding the wing - if it's functional and detaches realistically, that's awesome. I just don't like people slapping AWD on 2WD cars that could never even be AWD.

They had a Scrapheap Challenge/Junkyard Wars episode where one of the teams used a full-size car and stuck a wing on it and it flew by remote control, sadly, I couldn't find a pic.

However, I did find this.... So, yes, you can make a sportscar fly, actually. This car is a 2004 Panoz Esperante.

However, I've never seen a 4wd/awd car powering the front wheels without any halfshafts, transferbox or whatever, basically driven by pure magic
So yeah, actually, a flying car is possible, and an awd Bolide isn't.

Also, just so you know: You are THIS close to getting a warning for actively trying to cause a massive flamewar and indirectly insulting the author of the flying Bolide.

Not releasing mods because you can't handle criticism is pretty sad, imho, but that's your own decision.

First of all, I didn't add the AWD to the FT40. That was the author of the flying Bolide. I'm not insulting him. You're saying his work is impossible...
Also, the flying bolide has AWD too.
    mHnkqBx.png
Now tell me, why is an AWD car impossible and an AWD car with a wing on top is not?

Still, I didn't put AWD into the FT40. I just added a wing.

Not releasing mods because everyone's hating on it but nobody understands I didn't even do what people are hating about isn't sad. It's sad that people insult me because of someone else's work.

Now please go here and start a flame war because AWD is impossible: DSC-Rocket-Plane-Bolide
    Thanks

Also, DrowsySam's work is amazing. All of it. How is saying "it's not possible" the same as insulting? That's exactly what you did to me.

Well, going to the original FT40 is the logical thing. Both of the cars are based off of it.

What you said *was* insulting because it is actually very possible. You know bloody well that you were calling the flying Bolide impossible because it could fly, not because it was AWD, yet now that I proved you can make real cars fly, you're going off on a tangent to say "oh but this is also wrong!".

Noone is insulting you, I never said that what *you* did was impossible, I said an AWD with no front half-shafts is impossible. Don't try to twist my words.
And yeah, AWD on the flying Bolide is just as impossible without front half shafts, duh.

Either way, if you're not gonna add the download link back this thread may as well be closed and cancelled.

I know this was posted almost 2 weeks ago, but there is a thread with this mod attached after OP removed it.

    http://www.beamng.com/threads/4083-Civetta-Bolide-FT40GTS

He took it from this thread after OP went inactive.
