Even if it is good, it won't be better than my PC. And even if it would, I'm more of a Playstation guy. Just because Naughty Dog makes great PS exclusives - the whole Uncharted franchise, The Last of Us. I'm quite excited for the Uncharted 4 story expansion coming later this year
Im normally the playstation guy but only because of gran tourismo but they dont seem to get a good one out so im going to get a xbox one x this gen
Meh, most people can't afford a 4k screens. I bet 90% of the game won't even have 4k support. I've found a 35$ Model M in pretty good shape, I'm - kinda - tempted by it but I'm not sure I'm ready for so much retro mayhem
Is it okay to post a bunch of pictures of a computer. They are from the beginning of its life to where it is now? As of which it is a prebuilt (Specs are in my signature)
I'm kinda late, but the "blue cube" type converters are some of the best to use for Model M keyboards since they deal with power incompatibility that can happen sometimes. This is the one i use, a little more than a normal converter but not bad. Works on both laptops I've tried it on. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-A-Male-to-PS-2-Female-PS2-Active-Keyboard-Adapter-UK-/351757995268
Thanks, just ordered it, as many things that are nice about this laptop one thing I can't stand about it is the keyboard. I keep misinterprating the return key for the shift key and the capslock key for the shift, not only that but it's very mushy with no tactile feedback and it sorta bends when you strike a key. Not the kind of keyboard you'd expect from a 1.6k laptop...
Yeah, I really couldn't really get used to a laptop keyboard either, even just for average use its pretty meh. I can't imagine using one as a main computer at all.
Personally I own a Logitech G29, although that's not the route I'd advise. If you're on a budget, look for a near new Logitech G27 (Lots of those lying around from ppl who were gifted them or were too lazy to use them) because they'd be much cheaper than either the Thrustmaster or the G29. The G27 is very similar to the G29, in that it still has top quality in terms of the steering wheel and pedals, and it comes included with a H pattern shifter and clutch, which is more than the thrustmaster. However, the Logitech wheels are all geared wheels, compared to the belt driven thrustmaster, which essentially means that the Logitech is more notchy- It still feels good tho, with powerful Force Feedback. If you need XBox One support, I would ask how important a proper H shifter and good pedals would be, because the Logitech G29 can give you that for a cheaper price than the thrustmaster (At least in Australia) if you want all the toys. I don't think the G27 is supported on the XBox One.
Found 2 Dell towers at a thrift store today. Couldn't bring myself to say no. They're both from around the same time period. One is an Optiplex GX240, the other is a Dimension 4550. They are both Pentium 4 machines, the Optiplex being the faster of the two with a 2.6GHz P4, the Dimension being 2GHz. However, they aren't without their problems. The Optiplex is, oddly, the nicer of the two as a whole, despite it looking like someone threw it off the roof of the nearest building. The plastic casing around the chassis is absolutely fucked, and it has a gaping hole where I presume a Zip drive used to sit. However, it's nicer because it came with a Wifi card and a BFG 6800GT. I stole the GPU and wifi card for my HP Pavilion a520n. The Dimension looks like it was taken much better care of, the case is almost flawless despite some light scratching, and it's pretty damn clean inside (the Optiplex looks like something was living in it). However, I went to boot it to bios, and found it's suffered a ram slot failure. A shame, now it has 256megs of ram as opposed the 512megs it's supposed to have. I've done some GPU swapping and shuffling, now I have 3 candidates for Windows 98 gaming machines: The two Dells and a Socket 370 Celeron Compaq I found in my grandfathers garage. Perfect for those Quake 2 LAN parties. I can't wait.
I like that Microsoft is making a good console for one, but hate how everyone will react. "My console is more powerful than your PC!" I know, but I like this more. "You're an idiot." Can't wait till bullet Barry releases some fanticonsumer quotes
Turns out my new 6800GT has a bad cooling fan. That's slightly annoying. No wonder BFG went bust. In other news, one of my friends is selling his reference 980Ti for $225. The temptation is real.
My wacom intuos art is arriving tomorrow, anything I should know? Also, finally got Linux subsystem for Windows to work, much better being that I no the terminal better than the command line Now I have 2 Ubuntu installs! What is the point and what can you do in it, though?
Yep, all signs so far say that its going to be at least GTX 1080 levels, anything lower and it would be a failure.
Ok im asking because i want to play the new forza in 4k so i guess it has enough power to max it out or not
If it's anything like Forza Apex, a 1080 won't even be able to do it because I ran that game 30 FPS medium settings when I run just about every other game at 60fps high or max settings.
Weird because i can play with high settings 1080p but without msaa and so on at 30fps and that with a 750ti but want to upgrade it becuase mine acts weird sometimes and it isnt able to max some games out
Thought it would be fun to play some CS:GO.. On my Wacom. Man, you should see the video I took of it, but of course 3kb/s up will not work XD
