sorry but 25$ for an entire quality made vehicle from scratch is never going to happen. 250 sounds more realistic but even there some people would like more then that.

Well, there's also the fact that the creator and everyone will enjoy the mod. it's like paying someone to make a really good burger, but the maker gets to eat it too.

I dont think that modders working on BeamNG cars have cashed in much more than 100 bucks. If they ever had cashed at all.

Well, another problem is that most good modders are already busy.

If a modder is gonna work for money $25 for a car mod is not going to cut it.

Well, if a modder wanted to do this, we would presume that he wanted a Trophy Truck. The money would just encourage him to finish.

making a quality mod takes months. 25$ is more then a joke. nobody will make a quality mod for 25$, doesnt matter if its a public mod, its not enough.
    lol....

Yeah, but eventually someone is going to make a trophy truck, and they might as well take 25 dollars. It's better then nothing. I don't think this will happen anytime soon, judging by the fact that everyone is busy.

$25??? i think you mean $150+ ...modding isnt simple and to make a quality car takes months of work including moddeling.

Just for some reference on the above figure. A friend of mine is a games artist. Takes a good amount of time per model. We will give a very conservative figure of 25 hours, very conservative.
Her wage as a newcomer to industry is about £10 per hour. So immediately you're on £250 per model minimum as a napkin calculated figure. That's before jbeam too.
Now the model can be done faster and crapper but she can also be paid more. 25 bucks is sadly not going to entice her into modelling such an extreme amount of time when she could spend that time pampering herself, or reading Japanese car magazines.

I love how this keeps coming up... I'm pretty sure this was talked about some months ago.
I myself would say that paying is a bad(ish) idea, but if done right, it could work out, but then less people will get the mods if it costed money. We all bought the game for $25, so I don't think it would be fair if they had to pay more just to play more.

I understand that, This is NOT a timed project... whoever makes a quality Trophy Truck gets $25 thats it.

so thats kind of a reward? make this and get 25$? because paying someone to actually make something and just saying im giving 25$ to whoever makes this mod is 2 really different things.

Most people make mods for they're own enjoyment. Not for the pleasure of someone else, that is just an afterthought and a byproduct of modding. If someone was getting paid and that is 80% of the incentive to make something they would want to be paid for their art.

You have to take into consideration you are paying them for their skills. These are skills that can take 1000s of hours to obtain. That in it's self is worth something.

A real model on it's own can cost $100... most people wouldn't even wanna do something like this anyway. $25 would get me what, a freakin' cake? $200-250 is still low but what most people would accept for something like this.

$25 is just stupid because if someone took that they'd be obligated to obey timelines and bullshit over $25... that's a lot of stress for $25

I think a "Donate" thing would be better. Most of the modders just do it for fun and to make people happy, not really to make money.

Also, if you absolutely had to pay atleast $25, then not as many people would download the mod, and that would mean the modder isn't as happy (most likely) that his mod isn't being noticed well, and less downloads = less income.

Remember, not everyone is rich. Also, most likely, Russians would throw a wrench in it and make the mods free, so everyone would rather download it from there and not spend the money.
