thanks! i completely forgot those pesky control arms. i actually meant to bend them inward after i figured out how to place non-animating props because right now they are a flexbody and warps weirdly when i tried to bend that before lol
Hey, I am a novice and dont know a whole lot about the config of this truck and would like to mention two things, first, Is there any way to add PSI to tires? one thing these trucks lack is the ability to have different amounts of traction. So i think it would be awesome to have a couple PSI settings that make the traction change. Second, I love the look of this truck but is there any way to make it look more like a Datsun 620 4x4? I feel that would be a big hit on Ratsun.net and would inspire more people to buy the game.
Well the way the tires are here in beamng is kinda wierd where yoi cant really have soft tires without them getting destroyed easily (unless i use Fat-alfie's wheelbeams which i have not tried yet) and as for traction is what you want the friction coef. Is the better route at this time.. make it look like a datsun 620? Naahh the point of this truck is to try and have its own design and personality.
Awesome job!!! Its nice to have a crawler that you can take around a corner and not roll 15 times. Just noticed it seems to pull to the right a bit.
yeah that pulling to the right issue is one disadvantage of trying to have a completely realistic front suspension and steering. Its because of the track bar changing the front geometry whenever the suspension gets compressed which also changes the angle of the drag link and thus makes it pull so since we use hydros and hard to simulate a real steering box. but there is a way to compensate for that. i put a precompression setting on the hydro itself to straighten it out on flat surfaces only i guiess there is no real way of fixing it unless i "cheat" lol but i dont want to do that good lookin' out!
Nice truck. Really like it. However, I have one small issue. The truck seems to have trouble accelerating. It seems like its a clutch delay with a manual transmission when stopped, but it becomes annoyingly apparent it is something different when moving. If you let off the gas, then hit it again the truck acts like you hit the brakes first, then gas, so essentially it slows down when you step on the accelerator again for about 1-2 seconds before the engine makes it surge forward faster.
its ok, it seems like there are brakes holding me back when i go, and if i hit C i get stuck in the bed and i have to restart the game.
Hey TJ. I got a few things that I noticed after fooling around with the truck for a bit. 1) Like everyone else is saying... ITS MASSIVE!So I agree with Gabester and I think you should scale it down a bit. 2) The truck completely seems to ignore the spawn direction. It always spawns 90 degrees clockwise from the normal spawn point. This might be caused by the object itself in what ever you made it in. (Blender, Milkshape, ect.) Try opening it in the program that you made it in and rotating it 90 degrees counter clockwise. If this doesn't solve the issue, than it's an ingame script problem. 3) The camera is messed up. The spawn camera tends to be in the truck's bed when you naturalize it, but this issue maybe solved if you try scaling the truck down 4) The truck is INDESTRUCTIBLE!! I rolled it and smashed it and dropped and crushed it... Just as long as it land on 4 wheels the engine still ran and it was fine... Later on I found out that the truck ACTUALLY DIDN'T HAVE AN ENGINE. This came to me as a surprise... I have no idea how you did it, but anyway if your heading for a regular car that isn't that important, then leave it, but if your aiming fir realism, model an engine. If you don't know how, then ask someone in the community, Remember we are always here to help. 5) The acceleration is also a bit wonky. the truck doesn't move for like 2 to 3 seconds after holding down the "forward" button. This problem might have been caused by problem number 4, but look into it. 6) the debug modes seem to be a bit spazzy AND FACING 90 DEGREES CLOCK WISE (HINT HINT NUDGE NUDGE) 7) There is no inside interior what so ever, but I do understand that this is a concept and that's why it is says "WIP BETA RELEASED" You know who could really help you out with that? Gabester... or Mythbuster... or Nadeox1... or Drowzysam... Again people are here to help. Thats what I found, so I hope you put these things into consideration. You know what you did amazingly? The tires. Those are really well made, and if they cause a bit of lag, no one cares because they are pure awesome It is great that you are becoming a creator and honestly what you have done so far in more then any of us could have wished for, so keep it up!!!! I'll post a bit more in the future.
The truck is Already scaled Down from what it originally was and its a beta he knows all of those problems are there at least we have something to drive so give him some time Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
you can move around the camera with the NUM pad on your keyboard. its a little hassle but it beats restarting the game
Those circular things on the back of the pickup bed are the taillights It's a bug, I believe the rear camera node is missing from the car. Just zoom out using your numpad. One last thing: Please read through the thread before you post. Both answers to these questions were located in previous posts.
Re: "Shark" TJ's concept truck My camera doesnt work when i press on the numpad please fix it thanks. - - - Updated - - - My camera doesnt work when i press on the numpad please fix it thanks.
