First of I don't know where to post this, sorry if its in the incorrect subforum so.. For example if someone releases a mod that fits with the game brands, eg. Bruckell Caldera, I suggest that if the mod developer agrees that they could incorporate the mod into the game with credits. Then the BeamNG devs can then keep it updated or improve the vehicle to stock vehicle standards. Like it also is good I guess for mod creators because if they cant update the mod (because of life etc) and so the consumer is happy But now I am debating if the mod developers should get like some money for their work in getting it into game, like the game devs would have to pay to get someone to do it professionally so if a modder did it and then got payed and their mod got brought to game then that would be extra motivation for making mods
That has been done with games like kerbal space program (the mk2 parts). If I'm at all similar to gabe, he probably wouldn't enjoy working on something he hasn't designed in the first place.
think Fallout 4 or Skyrim special edition with an in-game mod browser that you can download mods from.
Assetto Corsa did this Cars like: Shelby Cobra Classic Miata Mazda 787b Were all mods that the devs put with the official content (these are just some cars I remember now, probably there are more cars and tracks)
No. Simply because there isn't a mod as good as ingame content, of course there's exceptions, but it's really rare.
add-on packs like @AR162B 's packs and the monster truck. could also include the darren tires and the simple rollbar for the hopper.
oh please. simple part packs maybe, but those monster trucks, while fun to play around with are nowhere near the quality of the vehicles the devs put out. even legendary mods like the s-series fall short in some way or another, and as much as i respect the effort that modders put them into their stuff, the devs do this as a full time job, meaning they have more time doing this stuff in general, and they have more ""free time"" to do it.
well it's our only monster truck that is an actual monster truck. plus the devs are using it for improved water physics.
I think this is actually a great idea. A nice way to implement it, so you have your stock cars with the Beamng Logo and it says developed by the Beamng Developer Team right? For a mod we could Change that, So lets say for example 99 and the devs came to a agreement to include the S-Series in the base game. So, The tiny Beamng Logo is replaced by the logo 99 decided he wanted to have there (Lets say a modified 99). And his name would come up on the credits of the game and everything.
I'd like to see some sort of community-created content in the official game at some point, but that will probably have to wait until development is finished. Even then, entire vehicles are unlikely, given the amount of work it takes a mod author to produce one, and the amount of work that the developers would likely have to re-do to optimize it in case of bug fixes. Even the best mod authors are unlikely to code in the same manner as the official team. But skins, props, and parts seem much more likely. In fact, we could probably get community-created skins in with the next update if the devs wanted them.
