Unsolved How to create maps?

I was wondering how you create maps. I really want to get into model design, and i thought a good way to start is to make some maps. any tips?

 

There are many tutorials on the forums and online, you just have to take the time to search

Great link. But he said he wants to start with maps, not vehicles. Still a useful link if he decides to try cars though.
