I know that there is at least one thread about this already, but I have some specific questions. 1. Will there be actual races in this next update along with smarter AI and whatnot? 2. Is the Gavril T75 coming in the Race update or some other future one? 3. Is there an ETA for the update and, if so, what is it? Thanks in advance. ----EDIT---- Thought of another question 4. What will the Bolide 390 GTR be like compared to the original Bolide?
We don't plan to add actual racing AI just yet (that's something big companies spend years developing; though we have some ideas on how to do it ), but there will be a whole system to load and unload lots of different racetrack configs and point to point races on various maps, as well as a lap timing system with online leaderboards. There may be vehicle performance classes, depending on how closely competitive cars are, or the leaderboards may just be for specific cars' configurations (and we will have anti-cheat measures to make sure everyone is using the same game files and cars). We are also rebuilding our HUD/UI system to be able to use HTML. This means we can, for example, write a speedometer in HTML, or debug modes, or play an HTML5 video on a wall, or have a live online leaderboard in-game somewhere on a billboard. T75 will be released when it's done. I can't say for sure if that will coincide with the update being ready. We don't have an ETA for the update. The most precise and hopeful estimate I can give would be around the end of the year or beginning of 2014. The Bolide 390 GTR has 440 hp, fatter, stickier tires, stiffer suspension, and big fender flares, so it does 0-60 in 3.8 seconds It's a vicious beast but it's surprisingly drivable, since the Bolide also receives handling/stability improvements all around.
1. Race AI would make this game, realistically speaking, in my opinion, the best game EVER made. 2. Wow. That's sooner than I thought it would be. 3. Damn. I'd say the "race update coming soon" banner was a little premature. Maybe it could be a christmas present?
While we're at it, will it include slidenodes? I'm really looking forward to seeing all this, HTML UI especially
While that's all great, I agree with Potato. The banner is a bit early. Glad to see it coming along though!
