For me, still the G27. Almost no bugs like the G29 (alignment problems). I brought back the G29 and kept my G27

I am racing with a Thrustmaster T500 RS with T8HA-Shifter. The force feedback is amazing especially in rFactor2. BeamNG gained a lot of realism in the aspect of FF so driving it with the 500 RS feels great as well. Superb wheel for an acceptable price!

I just upgraded to a G27 from a Driving Force GT. It was definetely worth the money. I won an auction on eBay for $240.

Well, it depends, if you drive w/ automatic trans anything that has force feedback and sequential shifter will work just fine. But, if you drive manual with clutch, i'd heavily suggest G25 or G27.

I personally have a old Logitech Driving Force Pro for PS2, but it also works with PS3 and computer. But for BeamNG it isn't very nice, because I drive manual w/ clutch almost all the time. That's why I use Xbox One controller for beam.

I'm using a T500 RS since a few weeks that I got cheap from ebay for 200€ (used obviously), it even came with the nice alcantara wheel.
Very very lovely device, especially the proper pedals (that hang from the vertical instead of the usual F1 setup) add a lot to the realism.
    Can only recommend it :)

Compared to the logitech devices it's a whole different level, not even worth comparing imo. They feel like toys, also because they are so small..

In the two years since this thread was started, has a better wheel come along? Any suggestions?

Depends on what you want to pay really, it's all about budget.

Best value wheel is probably still G27, in my opinion.

Best would be a Direct Drive wheel, ranging from around 1k USD to many times that price.
Best value wheel, depends on what your budget is, but cheapest I would bother buying would be a second hand G25/G27, which are excellent value for the price (they were even when paying 1st hand price too).

I use a g25 and have for over a year, and beamng tought me how to drive a manual with a wheel that costs way less than what it feels like and would strongly recommend it, it does have 1 issue where it shakes while stopped, i have tried to fix it, but no luck.

hey a bit off topic but is a Thrustmaster T150 good with ffb, I use one and just wondering if I would be better off with something else as I'm a bit moneyless at the moment, it seems to go quite well for me. Does it get much better in fine movement or not much with other ones?, a T500 RS sounds quite nice as Diamondback has said. Also is it possible to change the actual wheel and fit a larger wheel or would that require very extensive modifications

Just got a g29. I just got it and it's the only one I've ever used, so my opinion isn't worth as much as others here.

Definetly agree that the wheel feels strangely small for a car, but it's about the same size as the one on my '87 Charger (the speed boat, not the car) so it isn't that weird for me. The buttons on the wheel are impossible for me to use, I have no idea how IRL Ferrari/F1/etc... drivers do it. I keep my F710 gamepad nearby for controlling misc. functions like the camera. The clamp for the shifter does not fit on my desk, so it's clamped to the sliding keyboard rest with a book in between the clamp. No idea why the mount for that seems to require such a thick desk when the one on the wheel is fine.
