"The PC Master Race, sometimes referred to by its original phrasing as the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race, is both a subculture and a tongue-in-cheek term of superiority for PC gaming used among gamers, and used to compare PC gaming to console gaming. In current parlance, the term is used by PC enthusiasts both to describe themselves as a group, as well as their belief in the superiority of the PC platform in comparison to consoles, often citing features like more advanced graphics, free online play, backwards compatibility, modifications, upgradability, customization, lower cost-over-time, and performance.Popular imagery, discussion, and media referencing the term also commonly describes console users as "dirty console peasants" and people who play on PC as the "Glorious PC Gaming Master Race"."

As far as the concept itself I'd say that it's right on and that pc's in just about every way are better than consoles. Even if you have a pc that performs worse then a console you still get a lot of benefits like free online multiplayer with your friends and stuff. Although I do have only one problem with the name. PC Master Race makes it sound like that the people themselves that own a pc are better as people who play on consoles. In a way that is true because we were smarter and chose a pc but aside from that we are saying that our computers are the better "race" of electronics vs consoles. Plus we don't get butthurt as easy as consolers.

Yes that is true but the concept is that in general the pc is a better option even though a console would be more fitting for someone who has good reasons to play on a console which I get and do not condone :)
