I am currently in the process of getting a new custom built computer, and I would like to know what features are best when customizing a computer to run optimally for BeamNG.Drive. All I would Like are your specs(example):

Computer: 2015 27" iMac ( I know it's not compatible, just an example)
    CPU: 3.3 GHz Intel 15
    Memory: 16GB 1600MHz DDR3
    Graphics Card: AMD Radeon R9 M290 2048MB
    Graphics Card(2): N/A

and how well it runs, in low-stress situations. When I think I have enough results (100 replies if possible) I will compile the features that show up the most into a guide right below here so that anybody else like me may build a better computer for BeamNG.Drive. Thanks for Participating!(not a glorified trophy, I really appreciate it)

the game runs very fast, id say around 120 fps on gridmap with one car. on gridmap my max cars before a framedrop happens is around 4-6.

Thanks, I will see how much other computer sharing your specs pop up and determine, not just for myself, but for you, and many others, how good your PC is.
Also, how many MB's or GB's or memory does your graphics card have?

    GPU: AMD R9 390 Nitro 8GB

Generally with few cars this game is GPU bottlenecked, so you need a decent graphics card. As you increase the number of cars if becomes CPU bottlenecked. You want a good balance of CPU and GPU.

With my config I am able to run VSynced at 60 flawlessly (at 1080p) as long as I have 1-3 cars. 4+ cars results in 10-20 FPS drops per additional car.

I used to have an AMD HD 7950 and I really wanted a GPU upgrade for this game specifically.

i dont know the exact number, but im going to guess 4gb.
    --- Post updated ---
i pretty much have every setting set to max, but i have dynamic reflections turned off for now. im going to upgrade to an EVGA gtx 1070 soon that has 8gb vram.

Computer: Acer Aspire V15 Nitro Black Edition (laptop)
    Cpu: 3.1ghz i7-4710HQ
    Memory: 8gb DDR3 1600mhz
Gpu: GTX 860m 2gb with +135mhz overclock on the core and +280mhz on the memory
    Gpu2: Intel hd 4600 underclocked

I'm running the game in 1680x1050, fullscreen, v-sync on.
    Map: Utah
    Car: Sunburst

High preset with every setting on max: around 15fps
Normal preset with custom SSAO, FXAA and HDR: around 42fps
Normal preset with HDR: around 55fps
Low preset with custom SSAO, FXAA and HDR: 35-50fps, huge variation
Low preset with HDR: solid 60fps
    Custom settings: 50-60fps

    Car: 4x Sunburst
Custom settings that usually give me 50-60fps with one car: 40-60fps

    Car: 5x Sunburst
    around 35fps

    Car: 6x Sunburst
    26-37fps

    Car: 6x Sunburst
    CPU on 3.5ghz
pretty stable 31fps, melted keyboard and a blue screen of death in 3 minutes

Here are some older (0.7.0.2) bananabench results, cpu clockspeed written on image:

    Built her myself :)
    Intel I36100 3.7Ghz
    8gb DDR4 2133Mhz
    RX 460 2Gb
    $400

Runs the game at 60FPS on normal settings + some reflections @1080p
Can go up to max settings 20FPS (including all reflections)
Up to 3-4 cars before 30FPS mark.
If you want to go a little cheaper, swap the I36100 into a Pentium G4560, shouldn't affect much (2-4FPS) until you hit about 3 cars.

Thank you all for replying. So far I'm feeling that on maximum settings, a computer would need: (minimum@60fps)
    CPU:>= 3.5 GHz*
    Memory: >=8GB RAM
    GPU: ~10GB or more
This is what I will most likely base my computer off of, and you can take a look at what I think will preform well here:

Thank you for participating and take anything on this forum into consideration for you next build/upgrade. Hoping for more replies.

nonononononononono no AMD FX-series cpu, those don't perform well with this game. Also 16GB of ram is more than enough. Ditch that second 3TB hdd (I would suggest to go with Western Digital btw) and get a 240gb ssd. And don't get a cheap no-brand PSU just because it has some leds. It will fry your pc.

That will not give you 60fps on max details, on many maps and situations it will have hard time to get 60fps even on low details, because of what @Taza mentioned, AMD FX is next to useless in BeamNG physics and will not be able to do much good.

Intel I3 unlocked Kaby Lake would be something not too far of that price range, I guess, performance would be better, but it is only 2 core, so not much more than 2-3 cars at maximum, however with 1 car it probably would be closer to 60fps goal, but minimum I5 or maybe AMD Ryzen if you want to run lots of cars for that graphics quality and performance goal.

I don't know about AMD graphics cards, numbers in them confuse me at times, but if you want max graphics settings and 60fps with 1080p or higher, then you probably need to look a lot more expensive cards, I think that something like 400-600 price range, that graphics quality and performance goal is going to be expensive.

    I5 4660 3,2ghz
    8go of ram
    Sapphire 5770 HD vapor x (1 go)

On Utah I'm running around 50-60 FPS with a single car, with 2 around 35-45,with 3 around 30-40 and with 4 around 20-25.
With everything on medium and without dynamic reflection.

I'd like to upgrade my gpu, but I don't know what to buy.

if you are getting a mac, get the old style thick ones, the new ones are too thin, overheat under heavy use and slow down to protect hardware (thermal throttle-CPU goes above 100C!)

So I looked at your recommendations and reassembled another computer based on that.
    https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Planeguy102/saved/3mWjXL
But I want to explain some things to you:
    A) I chose the power supply not because of leds, because I don't care if my computer looks like a turd on the inside
    B) I choose the moving disk drives because they are cheaper for a lot more storage
    C) I really don't know that much about computers so that is why I started this thread, don't hate on me. Thank you.

If one is planning to drive on night with two off road roamers that have extra spot lamps added, there is no CPU for that, under 25fps with just two cars:

Improving that performance limit is probably going to be bit of a challenge for devs, it is not that simple to thread those calculations causing this limit.

Just letting you know, the RX 470 is an incredible performer at 1080p. (About on par with a GTX 970) It would suit BeamNG very well.

Yeah, but I doubt about max settings and 60fps, there will be drops below that.

I can do 60fps on high settings, most of the time, then comes some map or spot on map where I can't, some spots and situations in East Coast Usa gets me to near 20fps and not even near max settings because CPU won't compute faster.
