Is there a progress update on this? I know there has been a lot of drama with this mod but I'm really looking forward to it.
@gianpiero and @atv_123, you can't abandon a project like this with actual official support from the Assetto Corsa team. Also @gianpiero @atv_123 might be working on it but not much to show progress on, hopefully we have more progress
They are not employees of the Assetto Corsa team. Their time is theirs to do with what they will, and they are not beholden to dedicate any of it to any particular project.
I apologize for the lack of progress... most of my time currently is taken up by my job and my family as I am still living at home. I can go in at 6 and very frequently not get back home till 8 or 9 at night where I then have to take even more time to baby sit my sisters kids. When I get more free time, I promise more progress will be made.
@gianpiero What have you done besides ripping the model ? No offence, but you haven't proven anything more yet. I also dislike that you replaced original wheels, obviously because you just ripped them ready from some other BeamNG model too. In this time you could have learned much from @atv_123 and wouldn't need new "assistant" aka actual project leader. I understand that moding should be all fun, and there shouldn't be pressure, but it is no fun if process and management is irrational. It is like toy for a child then, interested at first, and breaks everything up when gets bored. Or just throws away. I understand @atv_123 if you actually are really trying to do everything good, then it is very easy to run out of time. I'm lacking time too. But if you want to have good things, there is no way around. Good luck.
That is all very true. I am still proceeding with this. Nothing to visual right now, but I got the suspension finished yesterday. If I get time today I should be able to put the mesh's on the components and the wheels and tires. Thanks for the kind words, one way or another this will get done, but I want the physics structure to be up to the standards of the model otherwise this is all just pointless. Edit: for anyone wondering, I had some free time today (4/14/17) and I managed to get the airbox working in game (wasn't before and I couldn't figure out why), rear brakes, transmission, and a running engine. This was all done in about 10 minutes. Will report back with more progress when I have it. Edit 2: Got some more time... Added the wheels, rims, brakes, brake disks, and learned how to get materials working as the materials file did not include any of those textures. I also attached the Hubs to the A arms in the suspension. No shocks or steering have been added in yet, that will be next. Pics!
Yes, I am still working on it. Progress is slow, but steady. I do have it steering by now and driving as well. Next I will start attaching all the interior meshes and animating a lot of them.
Is it necessary to bump this thread just to ask that question? It's unnecessary and not a constructive comment. The last reply before yours was in May (i.e. 5 months ago). In the future, please look at the time of the last message left by a user on a thread before posting on said thread.
Yeah, I need to get on this again. It isn't dead, so thanks for bringing it back to the surface. I will attack this with full gusto again this week
