Hi guys, we have an exhibition at school and I was wondering if anyone had any facts of fuel, gas, diesel, 2 stroke etc...

I'm not asking you to do my work for me, I just want to know of anything you have to say about fuel

    Thanks heaps,

    gas burns.

2 stroke gas is for 2 stroke motors. 2 stroke motors don't have a sump to hold oil for lubrication and instead have oil mixed into the gas. Since 2 strokes have no sump, no oil to hold, and no valves/camshaft, they are tons lighter than a 4 stroke. 2 stroke engines fire off 2x as often as 4 strokes and this means they have about 2x more power minus the cost of explosive energy that putting oil into the gas creates. I assume the reduction of having to run an oil pump and valve train kind of makes up for that, though. 2 stroke engines are ballin as shit but they burn oil which makes the earth sad so we can't really have them in cars, dirt bikes, lawn mowers, etc anymore.

Advantages of 2 stroke: Very light compared to 4 stroke, cheaper
Advantages of 4 stroke: more powerful, no need to mix gas/oil, better for the enviroment

If you want to learn about car (4 stroke) engines then I recommend the game Automation. (Demo lets you build 4 cylinder engines. Just look it up on youtube)

Diesel Fuel is compression ignition and does not use spark to ignite fuel like a gas engine. So the better the compression on a diesel more power. A diesel is like a "air pump" per say it pulls air in via turbo, supercharger or it could also be naturally aspirated (non turbo) and mix the fuel burns it and pushes it out and repeat. Diesel is a thick oily substance and gas is a thin substance. Most modern diesel are direct injection common rail and uses electronic Piezo injectors and capable of producing up to 5 (sometimes even more) injections per cycle. (Depending on PCM programming) Unlike a gas engine a diesel produces it max torque and horsepower at a lower RPM (Sometimes 2500-3500 RPMS) while gas engines produce its max TQ and HP at at high RPM (5000-7000 RPM).
