BeamNG Uninstalled Itself...

Somehow it or a program uninstalled BeamNG. Was playing fine earlier today, then I turned my PC off and came back a couple hours later to see the first time installation from Steam, didn't think anything of it at first, so I tried again, then it started to hit me. So I opened up Steam and sure enough, it shows it as purchased but uninstalled. You can sure bet I'm a little heated, especially since I have horrible internet and it's gonna take approximately 12 hours to redownload for some reason. Any ideas on what could have caused this? If it was a program it's sorry ass is getting deleted.

 

Might want to run a malware scan and a hard disk health check. No other reason for a game to just uninstall like that

 

This can be caused by steam too. My friend "lost" all his games (steam had an 'install' button instead of a 'play' button) but in reality the games were still on his hard drive.

 

I'll run a malware test but only Beam was uninstalled. No launcher located anywhere as well. I'll obviously reinstall it but this sucks lol.

 

Is the BeamNG folder in Documents still there? If it is, you'll just be able to reinstall and carry on as normal. No progress or anything lost.

 

Yeah, it is, and I know, I just dread having to redownload it.
Also, Malwarebytes didn't show any malicious software in my computer. I'm gonna do a antivirus and a registry repair in a minute. Doesn't hurt.

 

Also look at task manager and look at whats running in the background.

 

Nothing really out of the ordinary. Why do you say?

 

I have seen some things, that weren't supposed to be running in the background, which Norton thought was safe, but it wasn't.

 

Lol, Norton is a virus itself

 

I have Macafee or whatever. But I didn't see anything out of the ordinary. I'll just have to reinstall it and hope for it to not happen again. Just sucks since it's gonna take forever.

Okay, so update. Beamng.Drive downloaded in about 3 seconds, so I guess a single file was deleted? But why would it say that I needed to redownload the whole game? Weird.

 

This is an issue with steam, the files "should" still be there, if you click install and select the same install location it will only need to verify the files, and it will completely skip the download.
