So I was just finally able to get drive, since I was able to get some money on my birthday (Oct 21st) For those who want to read: I've always played games, since I was born (1995). My mother gave me an atari, and eventually I got some other things (sega, nintendo) But my first computer (got it in 2000) had windows 98 on it. (oh my hours on minesweeper) eventually I got a ps1, ps2, wii. never had an xbox, 360, or a WiiU (might not get a console much ever again) PC all the way though <3. Now into the future a bit more, i've alwayed liked good games, whether it was graphics or physics, though mostly physics and gameplay. So games like burnout, NFS, those nascar games, midnight club, and some others are the racing games I mostly played. Burnout was one of my favorites, nothing beat Burnout 3 and Burnout revenge. Those games were awesome, yes the crashes were pre-rendered models, but they were still awesome (hitting the back of a car only for the front and sides to crumple up) Meanwhile I was still playing the PC. Into the future a bit more, I found out about rigs of rods in 2011. My god was that awesome, going from burnout, flatout, NFS, to RoR. it wasn't as fast and shiny as tthose games, but it was worth it. (also, don't think i've mentioned I love simulator games) I played RoR a lot, about 1-4 hours every day. Eventually i found out about mods and was like "fml". mmm, rigs of rods crashes suddenly black bars flying around everywhere. So I played and played, aswell as other games. Then 0.38.67. I had no idea beamng left it, and waited for a loong time for an update. So one day, in 2012 I found this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KppTmsNFneg. First impressions: "no fucking way". So I watched every video and livestream they had (begged for the models for cryengine a bit...) Once these forums came out, I visited them almost everyday. Soon there was a countdown. For what? the anticipation was everywhere . When the countdown had very few time left, I decided to make an account. Soon alpha came out, and I played the techdemo a whole bunch. I wanted to get it, but had not enough money saved to spare that much. I then decided to torrent it, while the torrent was outdated a whole bunch, I still played it... Changelog for that version: August 8, 2013 0.3.0.1 Fixed issues with the updater using wrong proxy settings. So yea, played that version for a bit, then went to watching videos only But yea, now I have it, with my logitech drive force GT ready.
i could make one and upload it to a thread for you. i know how to do it mostly. or i could make a tutorial thread on how to do it. edit is this what your looking for?
That's quite a story you got there. I also found RoR back in 2011. Spent so many hours playing it on my P4 computer. Then I got the base parts for my current computer in xmas 2012, a little while after I discovered BeamNG.
I can't play drive right now because all i have is an old p4 3.00ghz and my terrible 1.8ghz dual core laptop. An ebay seller sold me a bad motherboard so I can't use my new(to me) core 2 duo
I do have a bit of a problem with my logitech drive force GT. I've gotten two inputmaps, and merged them, (both have the right stuff, but both missing what the other has). Though it still forgets about the wheel when I goto main menu then a new map. (sometimes when I switch caR)
Well, depending on what C2D you get it's not really much of an upgrade over a 3GHz P4 Hyperthreading. You really should go for a new budget computer. I have the MSI A75A-G35 motherboard (Around $60 on Amazon) and AMD A8-3850 APU. ($90, has Radeon HD 6550D APU) Assuming you can keep your PSU and you have a SATA HDD then that's really all you'd need for a much better computer. I do recommend buying a new GPU as the 6550 isn't exactly top-notch. The CPU is great for overclocking though. (I run mine at 5.4GHz)
a core 2 duo would be a huuugggee improvement over my p4. I got the mobo, 4gb of ram, and a 2ghz core 2 duo for $17.59 which was a great deal if the ebay seller would have shipped the thing in a good antistatic bag instead of a ripped to shit one. The board was also wrapped in a couple layers of bubble wrap and then slapped into a box where it could bounce around at will. Ebay guy said he would send me another one though. But yea, I should probably build a new pc. - - - Updated - - - that's very strange and I just use keyboard so I've never had it happen. I know theres a way to reload input maps (look in the controls/keys thing while in game) it's ctrl-t or something like that
nah bro I got a 3000w becuz myy p4 is overclocked i run that on 2 diff circuits of my house it's sick i get like 900fps
