    Good evening,

I am on my way to buy my first car in life. Of course, it must be a used one (budget maximum 6.000 Euro).

I live together with my wife and a 4 years old son. We would use the car not for every day driving to work, more for holidays, for trips, for shopping and so on. Mostly we would drive in city and on highways, mostly in Germany. We need a bit space (something like 300 litres car boot or more). In the same time I love to drive in a sporty way. It shouild have over 100 PS and a high speed from >180 km/h.

I prefer cars not older than 10 years anmd not more than 150.000 km driven. I have a passion for Japanese cars. At the moment I drive BMW 118i (carsharing). I love to drive it, but of course it would be too expensive to buy it for myself. Are there cars a bit similar like the 118i, but much less expensive, with less electronical things and more reliable? And the consumption should not be too high, too. Not more than 8 litres / 100 km.

So, do you have some suggestions for me?

Weil, forgot to write: I don't like VW.

What do you think about older SUBARU cars? Like Impreza 2.0?

Honda Accord, Nissan Altima, Toyota Camry....

Don't laugh - they might be 'boring' cars to "enthusiasts" but in the real world they are plenty quick enough, reliable, easy to live with and safe. They are not underpowered too and likely have plenty of engine options that top 100PS.

Since you're looking for a practical car this is a safe route to go to.

Something more unique aesthetics wise would be a Mazda - a 3 or 6 current-gen Mazda is awesome to look at.

Why ? Golf are really reliable and fun, how well.
The 2005 Impreza wrx is pretty good, even if it's not particularly reliable. And for this price I doubt you would find a good model with less than 150 000 km. Maybe an estate, they are cheaper than the other models here.
But most have been poorly maintained, with silly tuning on it (Rice wheels, bumpers, Ebay turbo...)

I'm not the biggest Subaru fan but the car you are describing is in fact either an imprezza, or even better a legacy. go get a legacy.

@CRAZY RACER What the... Lancia 037 is a retro rally car, not a reliable, economic and sporty family car.

Not meant be rude but this suggestion is like from a 10 year old kid.
