Tire Expansion

Hey all, I've been playing around with the demo for some time now, and have been modding everything. I've been having trouble lately with the tires expanding and eventually blowing up on the pickup. I've tried pretty much everything I can to get them not to expand, or at least expand slower, but haven't had any luck. Does anyone know what setting I need to change? Obviously it should be in the tires .jbeam file, but what number(s) should I change to prevent or slow expansion?

 

If you want to actually mod the game and get it to work correctly, I recommend buying the game instead of cheating the system.

if the wheels get to an unbalanced size, or pressure they will expand. That is because in the tech demo there are tons of bugs, and a lot less mod support, but glad to hear that you are going to buy it.

 

How fast are you going before they explode? Or at least, what's the wheel speed?

They only explode, if you let them explode. Meaning, if you give it a crazy high top speed and get the wheels in the air while flooring it, yeah.. BOOM.

btw the tires expand because the centrifugal forces act on them and when the tires are rotating very fast this force is tons and tons. If you could figure out a way to reduce the weight of the tire by a lot I THINK you would be able to go faster.

 

Heh. I tried that a few times, and some other things.

Did not go well.

 

I said I think it could work. I couldn;t figure out how to not break the wheels so I stopped. lol

 

That actually makes a lotta sense... I'll try it.
