The central diff (actually a "fake" cross-differential) doesn't work anymore. Removing it makes the truck drivable again. I'll upload an hotfix soon to restore lost functionality while I work on the drivetrain conversion.
Not to rush, but when do you think this hotfix will be applied? Does it have to be applied to every truck? Because I have the GDTL, Demented Bull, and WF7 Escalade (An Escalade WF) files, too, and I didn't know if those counted?
those are add-ons to the truck. @FLyInG 2 YoUr SoUL has decided to just skip a hotfix and go straight to implementing the new drivetrain code.
Ok. How long do you think this will take? Like I said, not trying to rush the project, just want to get a rough estimate.
I know it isn't your intention to rush the project or anything, but asking that question is sorta unnecessary. It will be out eventually.
We just about started. The entire drivetrain code must be rewritten, some parts of it need a complete overhaul. I won't skip the hotfix: I'm reuploading the repackaged (driveable) mod without the central diff later. I'll probably include a couple more fixes and improvements and the new thumbnails.
You know I can help, see my covet thing in the conversation, I think it just takes some time to copy paste and change values (I did that too for the covet, only wrote 20 lines myself)
No. It will get one when 2.1 is released. I'm uploading the hotfix in this thread right now. Mind you the truck doesn't drive as good as it used to: the center diff had a significant impact on handling, but at least it is playable again. It's all I could do for now, a proper drivetrain revision compatible with 8.0.0 is being developed. The hotfix is coming with a couple previously unreleased features to compensate. That part is mostly done. Some fundamental parts of the powertrain tree are missing - namely, a transfer case for 4WD - but I trust we can get a working setup in a few days.
I ment the transfer case and the rest of the setup. I had to add that to my covet. So I think yours shouldn't be hard either. I have a lo-hi, 4wd and rwd transfer case option on my covet now, with selectable diffs and stuff.
Updated: 2.04H ** Hotfix for 0.8.0 - Center differential disabled! ** - New fire simulation system. - New wheel system with selectable tires and 4 tire options. - Optional tow hitch. - Mohawk Warrior is currently disabled (redesigned beam structure causes instability). - New paint scheme for the F150 body: Monster Energy (body texture courtesy of @acapaldi). - New paint scheme for El Toro Loco: Yellow (body texture courtesy of @Devin Winfield). - New thumbnails by @acapaldi with credits. EDIT - As mentioned, this is merely a band-aid fix to restore basic vehicle functionality. A proper solution for the drivetrain is coming in the next few days.
Click that. It links you to the post that where he posted the file for the now older version of the mod. He updated the post.
sweet, but now i need to get beamng drive on steam for christmas because the crack i have is outdated now.Good thing christmas is close --- Post updated --- does this version work on version 0.7 ?
Works perfectly! However, I noticed the game stops responding for a brief moment when switching from BKTs to another tire set, like Firestone, Ukraines, or Goodyears. It might just be because of my VMware Virtual Machine's configuration (12GB of RAM, 2GB Graphics Memory, i5 4288U @ 2.6 GHz, Windows 10 Pro. Yea, I have a Mac, can't get BeamNG on there without running the Windows XP Version)
Yes, that could be the cause. Anyway, most parts take a second or two to load on swap, so it could well be just the normal behavior.
