I Feel like the 122HP engine isn't enough, I think its time we get the Superbike engine, or you know, add turbos and stuff but really, we NEED that superbike engine
After install this mod i have problem this Gavril H-series. It's yellow and says no texture on the interior. Welcome to bug mod team http://www.beamng.com/threads/says-no-texture-on-gavril-h-series-lights.31320/page-2#post-485909
A modest, but fun car appars. The dashboard are excellent If you put 35s on it, the upcoming Hopper has stiff competition before it shows. You'll find the 35s under the 4-lug section, equipping some 15-16 inches rims. Please mike94 give it a lot of suspension travel and a solid front axle! Also, an electric version could easily exist (AdamB made the original Pigeon electric, maybe he would lend a hand in porting to the Dove?)
Hi, I love this car and it's great fun to drive, I would however like to see some coil springs on the rear (or softer leafs if thats too much), on the passenger varients as they feel a little too firm. An electric version sounds fun too, as AM-DB9 mentioned.
Then, it's a mod conflict. How you can fix it? Disable and enable all of the mods you have installed 1 by 1 along with the mod that's bugged, untill you figure out which one is bugging the game.
For everyone who wants rally/race/offroad version, do you know how much work it takes? The bodies, frames and bed would need extensive modification to accommodate bigger wheels and that would mean redoing UV mapping and all related textures. The suspension, especially front, cannot be lifted much before the wheels gain ridiculous amounts of positive and in the end again negative camber due to the short A-arms. Solid front axle needs also lots of work to model and jbeam. My attempts to reinforce the frame without adding so much weight to the nodes that the car becomes unrealistically heavy for it's size were unsuccessful. Maybe if all of the nodes are in right places, maybe then the beamSpring values could be upped without adding weight. It would take, at least from me, countless of hours to tweak the frame. So all race tires, engines and aero parts are pointless because of the sloppy cheap car frame. I also want to move on to other projects, at least for now. Feel free to modify any file you want, if you publish the modified parts here, please add my name to the credits. Maybe someone will do the version you want for you.
I'm very sorry, I didn't really wish for anything complex. It was just sort of a suggestion for a simple new variant, maybe scaling the D15 front axle down and strapping it to the Dove. The only other thing needed would be long suspension travel and high ratio diffs. I know the wheel arches etc. would need extensive modification for very large tyres, but that's just not necessary to have fun offroading. I mean, who cares if the tyres compenetrate the body in this comnfiguration, the Dove is clearly not a big overlifted truck. But in due time... The writing reads, "When I grow up, I'll be a large goods vehicle". I also know there's a sort of Baja Pigeon on the forum, but it's a large object. It's fun, but more similar to driving the D15 than the Pigeon. Together with the Sunburst Electric by AdamB and a 3000 HP Covet (obtained matching parts from different mods) this is in my favourite list. The Dove chassis is so sturdy and so light that it can take a lot of damage. Certain part combinations are so modest that you can drive to an empty fuel tank with a punctured radiator. Some AWD models can safely climb and descend 40° (that's more than 80%!) with the right tyres, and the center of mass is very low so you can actually U-turn mid climb. The model is overall very high quality. The front suspension rework is excellent and works very well in a lot of scenarios. The manual lock diffs are pure genius. All in all, the whole is so good that if only... - there was a fully blown offroad pack, that would be great! (because this is the car I'd want if I'm going to the desert) - there was an FWD drive variant (because my first car was a small thing quite similar to the Dove, but it was FWD. 1.0 L, 50 HP, 5 seats, 13 inches rims) - there was ABS (because with a keyboard it's really hard not to lock the wheels) - there was a stretch limo version a la Top Gear (because... do I really have to say something? Just look at it!) IMHO many people saw more potential in the Dove than what has been delivered. Probably because the Dove is unbelievably good and endless side projects could stem from it. Let's hope someone picks your offer and build us poor gamers (as in opposed to modders) some of them. A drag Dove, a wheelie Dove, a dually yard tractor Dove... you name it and it becomes automagically awesome. I understand you wish to work on other projects, and I'm looking forward to them. Given what you provided us with the Dove, I expect something really nice If somebody's interested, to get an incredibly good offroader you spawn the Dove SW, give it 4WD, use the 4-lug hubs with deep dish 13x8 rims, give it the shortest lockable diff (the one with the highrest number), put the 90 HP engine in with the 5-speed gearbox and Bob's your uncle. You may lower the tyre pressure to 10-15 psi for better traction and remove the spare wheel for better ground clearance. If you respawn the Dove, cycle the diffs so they will work properly (press the Y binding 3 times). EDIT: After extended testing, the Dove Wagon configured as above was able to do pretty much anything my ultra-modded, 900 HP D-Series could do. I went to the ToughTruckMap, and except for the pipe circuit the Dove passed all the tests. The φ shaped wavy terrain is difficult, but the long, real-life offroad/mud course is easier with the Dove. Then I climbed to the top of the Ararat map and was even able to revert and come back down. The D15 is a lot more difficult to reverse and control, especially going down. TL,DR: the Dove is a better mountain goat than the D-Series and floats well on snow and mud, while the Gavril can crawl over way larger steps and ford deeper. The Dove is a better real life offroader, while the D15 is a better specialized vehicle.
idk if it's already reported, standard 3 lug front wheel hubs and 4wd front suspension breakes the steering
The Ibishu Dove 1.1 featuring great custom sounds by @TheRustyRagdoll, stiffer and more stable frames with less flexing under heavy braking/accelerating, fixed front wheel/steering breaking (mysteriously related to front differential and caused also the oil starvation bug), new diesel and turbodiesel engines with optional custom adjustable turbo, stiffer engine mounts, LHD configuration, slightly more easily deforming front frame and custom adjustable rear differential, will be released hopefully before Christmas. The game version 0.8 will have entirely new powertrain system and, at least for what I read from the wiki, official support for dual range transfer cases and differential locks. I can make a custom offroad version then, if I have some time. It will have a suspension lifted by 5" or more and tiny 23 or 24" offroad tires to fit into small wheel arches. I probably have to make totally new front suspension again since the current one doesn't allow much wheel travel.
Mike, could you give me some hints for how to put your diff lock system to gavril D-series? (I've copied and renamed the dove.lua to pickup folder and copied differentials from dove suspension to Pickup suspension(both front and rear) @edit: Nevermind I got it to work, I just needed to put the Lua file in the Vehicles/Pickup not in Vehicles/common/pickup
Wow mike94, for someone who was going to other projects this is astonishing news Thank you thank you thank you (and thanks to TheRustyRagdoll too)!
