I was just thinking about certain game tools that would be fun to have while free roaming in the BeamNG game. Bash - Use this to dent you car and smash windows without doing any damage to the engine. This is good for people who like to drive ghetto cars. Cut/Slice - cut pieces off of your car. Turn your D15 into a convertible! Flip - If you roll your car onto it's roof, use this to put it back on it's wheels. Dirty/Clean - Self-explanatory. Please let me know what you think, or post your own ideas.
Exactly! New idea: Boost: makes your car go faster. Remember, these are suggestions for whatever free-play/free-roam mode that is implemented.
Really, the bash is already in game. Just hit the car against the wall. The @x horsepower and all that can be done ourselves, by modifying the car. I think there are probably better things for the dev. team to work on, but that's just my 2 cents.
Tools sound like a good idea if we have a career mode in the game. I'd rather micromanage the repairs of my car myself, rather than have a computer do a sweeping fix of the whole car and remove the battle-scars and legacy of bygone events from my car's bodywork. I don't like it when fixing a car is basically like getting a brand new one. It's boring and annoying and there's no chance to character your car properly. Imagine, ruin the back of your car in a kind of banger/rallycross race and now you can no-longer put the bumper back on because its so horribly twisted and irreparable that the bumper no longer fits properly. From now on you're going to have to either leave it off, or you can only attach it at particular points that are still in-tact and it's going to be loose and wobbly and fall off on every race when your car hits anything at all. That's character and the kind of anal retentive micro-management that suits me. So yes, tools and a physics based car 'repair' mode for bending bits into shape and putting your bodywork back on sounds good to me.
That's a lovely idea. Bash & Cut are good ideas. Flip could be assumed under (& if the Devs put in a) "mouse dragging" (clicking & dragging any part of the car makes it move that way) or the "grappling hook" (self-explanatory, attach the hook to a part of the car & reel it in to drag the car that way).
Wow...this has to be one of the best ideas I've heard in a very long time. I think there should be a division between in-game and customization tools though. When customizing your car, you should be able to add dents, dirt, rust, and wear. Cutting off entire parts would be cool too. For in-game, I think the devs should remove the old "click and drag" ability and replace it with a more complicated system. Rather than clicking on a part and moving it, the cursor could act as a hammer. Small movements against the surface of the car would cause small dents and scratches. Rapid swoops against the car would be like getting hit by a speeding semi. I also like Hati's idea of micromanaging the repairs.
You should make the car able to lost a wheel then make sparkes from roaling on metal sorry for my bad english something like this idk http://www.aa1car.com/library/wheel_missing.jpg P.S. im french
Yes, I like that. For example we could use the left mouse button for the hammer effect, and the right mouse button for the cutting effect.
Love the idea! What about a fatigue/rust tool? You would click on a part of the car and the tool would weaken that part! Ex. Tie rod you would click on a part of it and then maybe as your steering around a corner the tie rod would snap!(Depending on how long you held down the mouse click)
Yes, there are better things for them to work on, but this could be added in an update maybe? Also, obviously you can crash the car to break it, but I think he means something that you can control exactly how it is damaged. If you just run into a wall, yes, you would damage your car, but it wouldn't be very precise. - - - Updated - - - That's a pretty cool idea, but I think not being able to fix your car ever would be bad, since if you completely wrecked your car you could never fix it again. Imagine trying to do a real race with your car falling apart. It wouldn't go well. It would be nice to have a repair tool, not to completely repar your vehicle, but to fix certain parts of it. (On second thought, having a repair all tool would be nice, but of course only optional.) Some people don't like micro-management, you know. Despite that, though, being able to fix it completely and quickly, or micromanage it and fix it down to the last headlight, would be cool. It would be great, since not everyone has the same opinion about things.
