    Hello !

So i'm again spamming the forum with crappy selfish things, but 'cause i'm a good boy i've bumped my old thread !

It seems like we had made a mistake on the price estimation of our actual car (Chevrolet Orlando, 2012, ltz+, 163hp) we had seen that this car had a lot more value than we thought, so good news !

    So we decided to up the budget,now around 35k-44k € (37000-48000 $)

At the start we were really intrested by the 2017 Jeep Wrangler unlimited the only "American" brand (or Italian lol) sold in France, the V6, 280 hp one (around 41000€), but the price did not include the amazing French taxes (10k€ wow)

So after a little bit of research, 2 cars really interest us :
The Mercedes GLC, the base model, with the I4 of 214hp and AWD (44k€) :
    glc.jpg glc2.jpg
Or the VW Amarok, with the V6 and 200 hp 4x4(I dont know how you can get so little power from a V6)
    Amarok.jpg Amarok2.jpg
Here is a little Excel (Or maybe OpenOffice ^^) board full of random brands SUV/crossover/pick-up.
It's in french but you should be able to understand it, (CV stand for HP)

The VW Tiguan (I4 190hp) and the Ford ranger (I5 200cv) are also interesting

    tiguan.jpg ranger.jpg

If you have other suggestion, here's the requirements :
    -At least 190 hp
-We don't care much if it's a Diesel or petrol engine, but less than 7L/100 could be nice !
    -4x4 or AWD
    -No Asian things
    -Something with 5 real place

Me and my familly have started look for a new car.
Not for right now, but we always check like 1 year before, to know what car could cost less until here.
Me and my familly, well... Me and my father :D loves big american SUV, but sadly, they aren't sell in France, and even if they would be, with taxes, with TVA and other stuffs they would cost quite a lot...

We have a budget of around 30 000-35 000€. We actualy have a 2012 Chevrolet Orlando. Don't get me wrong, it's a very good car, but because it have already around 163 hp, we want more of this number. And of course it need to have 4x4 or AWD. It's for 3-4 persons. And, of-course, my father want only a new car...

It seems pretty much impossible, after hours and hours of chearching it seems like the only car in this cathegorie
is the Audi q2 (190hp/AWD) which we quite like... But it's very small :

At the base we where intreted by the new tiguan, but, wow, the price of it... And, in France, we don't have the 183hp version, only the 190 one, which cost 40 000+
So maybe in 1 or 2 years it would cost less, but wow.

We were also interested by the Ford Ranger, but it also cost a lot, and... It's not that fast.

An yeah, we hate Japanese Stuffs, they are ugly and everywhere :p

    If you have any ideas...

In the U.S., where I am from, SUVS are a vaiable option. But dont get an SUV. They are, slow, heavy, ineffecient, expensive, and not fit for Europe. Buy an estate car, like a Skoda Superb. The more powerful ones are fast, but retain decent fuel economy.

Nah, we talk here about europeans SUV, not americans. Here, SUV are as good and small as estates. And we hate wagons :p

    Like : American SUV

    European SUV :

We don't have the same "Definition" for SUV ^^

The Hyundai 185 hp cost 41 000€ here in France :/
About the seat I didn't think about it, We also like it, but it's still 38 000 here :/ All those taxes, hate that.

Oh yeah, at the beginning we had planned to buy an Wrangler, but they stopped selling the 4 cylinder version (around 36 000€) and they now only sell the v6 one ...

Over 2000€ price difference from Germany to France ... thats much. But don`t look that much at hp .. our 2nd family car ... a Dacia Logan MCV from 2015 with 90hp gets up to 195kph but Dacia says it only can drive 175kph

Don't want to know how you know that ><" :D

If we didn't put any attention to the HP, I guess we can get a 150hp tiguan or Q3, but you know ...

I approve this message. I drive my mom's 2014 Yeti (I'm a new driver just got my drivers licence) and its a pretty nice car.
Talking about the 1.4 TSi, Because diesels aren't popular where I live so they don't sell them. Only 122 bhp but it's really peppy with the DSG gearbox. Plus it has some nice features like automatic parking, an ENORMOUS sunroof, automatic lights and all sort of stuff. 9/11 on my scale ;)

Uh, also, the q2 is safe (5 stars for crash test)

it has the 5 stars .. but it isn`t worth the money because SUVs in its class are 5k cheaper with better options and 5 Stars ... and the Q2 has an ugly back °.°

How about the Kia Sportage GT-Line ... costs about 35k and has 177hp

Go used man. I helped my buddy buy one over here in new York for like 5k and it only had around 100k miles on it. are taxes the reason they cost so much? get the conversion kit that let's you run them on wine to make up the cost difference.

Yep, Tva, in first, the government take a pour cent on the price of the car (so add like 20% to the original price) and you can also had like 5k of taxes and stuff, particularly on the diesel one...
*Japanese suv. Don't get me wrong I love Japanese sports cars.
