Is anyone else wondering about the option for an e-brake for drifting, sliding around stuff and just general stupidity? Sure, we have the parking brake, but there's a delay in using it, and the "p" key is out of the way for those of us using a controller.
I also noticed it takes several seconds for a vehicle to go from forward to reverse gears. Is there an option for this I'm missing?
    Thanks!

When you say an e brake meant for drifting do you mean an quick e brake that is only on when you hold an button? There is that already. There are 3 different e brake control types in the controls section. You can configure the controls there to what you want for what key. You can even set the controls on you controller too.
    1. The normal e brake that is activated by the "p" button. One press keeps it on and you have to press the button again to disable the parking brake.
    2. The other is the type where you hold the button to activate the parking brake. Stop holding the button to disable the e brake.
    3. The sorta advanced e brake. It's a mix of 2 and 1 and a little more. Stepping on the gas disables the parking brake. If the car is moving at a great deal of speed then the e brake is like the one described in number too. If you are moving really slow or is at standstill then the e brake is like the one described in number 1. I think this button is assigned to the spacebar.

You can configure the controls in the controls section to what you want for what key. You can even set the controls on you controller too.

Didn't they combine all of them into one type? Like if under 10 mph it toggles, but above 10 mph it hold as long as you hold the button down?

What you explained is the one that I explained in point 3. There are those 3 types of handbrake controls in this game. As I said by default the spacebars uses the third one that i mentioned and the "p" button uses the first one. Go look at the controls. I'll check soon ingame and if I'm wrong I'll let you know.

I see, I'm talking about using the e-brake for drifting and sliding. So it would be a button you hold. I was hoping there's a way to map that button to a controller button. I normally use an Xbox one controller when playing

There is a way to configure it to an controller. You just edit the controls for it yourself. I configured it to my ps4 controller when i used it so it should work for you xbox controller.

I thought about removing the 2 previous ones, but decided not to, since some people may want the non-smart behaviour if they are using handbrake hardware that is either a togglebutton or an axis.

Smart parking brake can be used for drifting and sliding, and is assigned to the right bumper by default. If you replaced that binding, just assign it again, or remove all custom bindings by clicking Reset All in the Controls menu.
