Hey everyone! I enjoying making vehicles in google sketchup, and was wondering if anyone who really enjoys programming mods and such would like to possibly make the vehicles compatible with BeamNG? I've linked some screenshots of some of the vehicles I've made so far. If you think you can/want to try to make these a mod, please feel free to shoot me a message. Cheers -Nat B
Hi Nat Blair, your cars look crazy good. You should post your questions in that portal http://www.beamng.com/forums/questions-and-support.5/ or ask somebody who knows probably the answer, than the chance to get a response is much better. Here are some names you could ask: Jalkku SergentFido, Darren9 Bernd I have found only an explanation how to transfer mods created by blender to beamng but that is not a problem. You can try an export in format .dae from Sketchup to blender. Here you find the link to .... wiki: http://wiki.beamng.com/Introduction_to_Vehicle_Creation My idea is that you should always make a stock version of the car a caprio version and than the tuning version. The community always asks for things like that. hope to hear from you Rgds Eli_Audi
If you really want to do that, take contact to some Russian guys that have made mods before. Their quality isn't best (well, some of them), but at least you can be able to get the cars in game.
I've never made an official mod yet.... but I have been learning sketchup and would like the challenge. These cars look great by the way¡
To get your cars in game "Russian-style", you don't even have to ask them. Just slap the mesh on the unedited jbeam of one of the official vehicles... Done.
I dunno why I'm so confuse with vehicle creation ........I've read it many times but still dunno how to do it ......I can't find any tutorial video to make a car mod ..... HELP!!!! I hope there's a better and easier way to understand how to make a car mod
Yeah, I have thought why there isn't even a single video about vehicle creation... I personally would make vehicles too, but I have no idea how to. :/
The best way (imho) is to start creating skins (simple ones and make them seperate) for something like the CRD Monster Truck. Then start making bodies seperate then start making bodies (its tedious but I recommend taking bodies from RoR). Then start making adjustments to everything. You'll need to learn and that's what. I've been doing. You need a .dae, a jbeam and a material.cs for vehicles
I hope I can do that ......... --- Post updated --- Can someone teach me how to make a car mod..I don't even know how to take a model from RoR ...and make a skin PM me or anything ......Thank you
tutorial to be a russian modder (like me): take your model. match it to the wheel base of the car youll base it off of. (ex: super/bolide) take a peice (ex: left door) rename the door mesh to "super_door_L" ect ect make the mesh orgin 0, 0, 0. write a materials.cs (or not) put in a .zip you created russian mod now go swim in your toilet
Hi ,fen i know u are a good modder.......do you know anything about how to take a model from other game
Beamng requires a .dae file. there are tutorials online on getting something from sketchup from blender (witch can export .dae files)
you may need special software to do this depending on the game, I would like or rip some models from flatout ultimate carnage but I dont even know where the models are
