    Hi

I've been thinking of getting BeamNG.drive soon but I don't know if my computer could run it and how well.

    Specs:
    Processor: Intel Core i5-6400
    RAM: 8GB
    Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960

Also how well does it run compared to the tech-demo?

Yes, and very well on medium settings.
@Nadeox1 stated somewhere that the game is somewhat heavier than the demo, as there is more content.

That computer setup will be great for beamng. You should have no trouble in low quality settings, 60+ fps. I think it would be best in mid -high quality settings, as i play in low quality with my laptop and get okay framerates, and my laptop is terrible compared to yours.

I have worse specs that you and I play on high everything, normal lighting + dynamic reflections and get 45-75 fps. You should be fine.
My graphics settings if you want them:
