jdbensch submitted a new resource: Advanced Island Redux - Advanced Island, as it was in 2014, fixed to work in the latest version of BeamNG. Read more about this resource...
I will probably push out an update to make the asphalt function like asphalt. I forgot to mention that in the post, but I do intend to do that.
Everyone, a version which makes asphalt roads react like asphalt is awaiting approval. Edit: Please just report any bugs, suggestions, or other issues in the discussion. Please don't tell me about them in a review, that way I have the opportunity to fix them before you review it.

Expect a big update in the next week or so, with lots of bug fixes and changes to make the map more enjoyable, thanks to @bob.blunderton.
I am planning on updating the map before the end of the week. This new version was basically all thanks to @bob.blunderton and includes a lot of changes, including bug fixes. In the meantime, here are some previews.
Update will probably not be this week, maybe this weekend, but I wouldn't count on it. There are some things I wanted to address before releasing it and I haven't had a huge amount of time to do so, so it's taking me a bit longer. I plan on reworking the city portions to make them less laggy and a little more sensible. I will post some new images soon.
Update should be pretty soon, I have a few minor things to do before release, and I'm going to let @bob.blunderton look some stuff over once more. In the meantime, here are some new pictures I took. They feature some of the new roads from Bob, some of the roads I added, and the totally revamped "city" area. Stay tuned for an update soon!
hint hint: FOREST ME FOREST ME FOREST ME! On another note, it's coming along nicely. Why don't you go and swipe my sidewalk textures out of tennessee, and use some mesh roads to make sidewalks. They're within the art/roads directory of my map. You can just look up the materials.cs for the word Sidewalk. If you go into my map you can also take a look @ the curbs and see from there what I used. It's actually a modification of the in-game sidewalk textures, stretched to fit and obviously enhanced a bit to hide the fact I resized it. Why make what's already there and made? You also have the low-res textures that were there on the old sidewalks.
I am working on adding more trees and rocks to the map, along with sidewalks to the city area. This will take a bit of time.
Take all the time you need bud. A good map is worth all the time it takes to make it. There's no legitimate reason that this should be rushed, or needs to be out before a certain date. I started on Tennessee back in February (it also languished un-worked-on during the time I released So-Cal as I back-burnered it waiting for game features, which did materialize in that time mind-you!), but it's been worked on most of the time short the 2~4 months I mentioned, and it's still not done (it's getting closer every week). Good maps take time. Lots of time. I'm retired and it's still not done. So yeah, take your time. Snag my sidewalk textures if you need them. Grab the left and right city sidewalk textures (Sidewalk_CR and Sidewalk_CL) and the curbface texture too that's for the side. It's super-easy to make mesh road curbs it's just time consuming. No one said it would be easy --Good luck.
Some work has been done, I've been rather busy so I haven't had too much time. However, I do have some work done on the sidewalks and forest. The sidewalks are not done completely yet, but here is a little image of what to expect. Please know the sidewalks are a work-in-progress so they haven't all been touched up yet.
Good work bud, looks great, keep it up but make sure to take time for what matters most, don't revolve your life around mods (although nearly everyone else said this already, I'll say it again)
So after some delays due to being busy, I've been working on the map again and made some progress. Later today I will post some pictures, and if all goes well you can expect an update sometime next week.
Pictures of progress, hoping for release this week. Pictures show some new trails, sidewalks, and city area.
