If I'm being honest, it doesn't seem THAT dissimilar to IV. I was playing around on IV yesterday, flinging the car from left to right, and I had just as much twitch/traction as the cars in the leaked V gameplay seem to have, the only differences being the camera in V is looser and there's little body roll. I'm remaining optimistic, but regardless we'll get nice handling mods on the PC version.

I can handle unrealistic if it's fun. The fact that bumpers and fenders and stuff can now fly off means that the damage is at least a bit entertaining, and I'll enjoy the fact that police AI is competent now. I just hope the handling has *some* challenge. I saw leaked gameplay of a guy driving the Audi R8 knockoff and he got it sideways several times and it seemed to just automagically straighten out.

Also, here's hoping for correct drivetrain layouts. Almost every car in GTA IV, despite most of them being based on transverse FWD cars, had longitudinal engines and were RWD. And then the one car based on a fox body Mustang was FWD

IV was definitely lacking in varied drivetrains, only the Blista, Dilletante, Willard and Uranus were FWD, that's 4 out of 130 cars. Hoping that the new Blista is still FWD, would be fitting considering it's a Colt/Scirocco hybrid.

I'm always willing to lay off judging a game's handling until I play it myself. It's impossible to get a feel for something by watching gameplay. You can make observations, but until you play it you don't know how much effort is needed in each turn or drift because you yourself aren't getting feedback from it.

Hakumai was also front wheel drive.

I am getting it tomorrow after school. They look pretty NFS but it could be a mix of slightly tweaked handling and different camera physics. Wait and see. It looks like they added sway-bars to all the cars. Anything above Saints Row and Sleeping Dogs is workable. I hope the auto-kickdown transmissions are still in game.

Got the game about 6 hours ago at midnight. Have been playing ever since... Absolutely love it, but I'm so tired, whatever I'm doing in the game is hardly sinking in... Only thing I really hate is that they *again* won't let us invert horizontal camera movement, only vertical :|

To be fair, our game shop did quite a bit of effort to make the 2 hour wait from the start of the launch event entertaining...

Yup, they hired poledancers... Four of them. And a DJ... All outside in the cold. Poor girls lol

Quick dumb question, am I the only one that has some ugly black that transforms in weird blue at night, if you know what I mean. (the wheels and interior)

You mean the jagged bluish patches at the top of his jeans?

It looks like something's wrong with your colour if that's what you mean. Mess around with your screen and game's contrast settings to see if that solves it.

I read on some articles that the PC version wasn't released the same day as the console due piracy (its easier to pirate for pc).
But nothing about a PC release was said (but remember about the configuration file for the pc and ps4 found in the game codes).

I just hope they are going to do a proper port at least. Looking at the game plays recorded on console its pretty evident the slow loading times (objects loading with delays) the limited distance view and the aliasing all over the screen. But the game still looks fun.

Is the map bigger then the JC2 map? L

If this was released on PC first, pirates wouldn't have been able to pirate the game a week before the damn release date.

Yeah, because the game totally didn't leaked before the release with a lot of torrents available as well for the console version.

    No.
    However, JC2 lacked detail.

As far as I played today, (did the first missions where Michael and Franklin meet and shit) I didn't leave LS. By driving around in the city, it literally felt like I had been driving all across the SA map.

And everyone said the driving looked stiff and bad... Well, I gotta say. I have not experienced any smoother driving in any game before. Even though the traction is like extreme, it feels so magical to drive.

Just Cause 2 has the most beautiful, impressive map that I have ever seen in a game. It is the only game that has ever actually just awed me by the views or just how beautiful it is. There's just this feeling that I get when I'm at the top of the mountain, looking down on the snowy cliffs and hills that just eventually turn into a green, jungle and then you can see the blue ocean, and the little islands and sandbars that are everywhere throughout it. If it's at night, you can see the lights of cities and villages in the distance. It's the only game that has actually been able to entertain me for hours by just driving a boat around and looking at stuff. I'd like to see someone top that.

    Fake site...

JC2 was only bad, cuz of the overall steering. Cars were boring and too slow.
But graphics, map size and so on pure fun :)
