Gears

I have had this idea in my head for a while now, I haven't looked into doing it yet but may do it in the future. My idea is when you have the car in auto as soon as you press the brake it stops and starts reversing, this isn't very realistic and is the only reason i don't sometimes use auto. so my idea was to have it so you can select PRND21 and all the rest. I was also thing when it comes to steering wheels with H Sifters you could set it up so 3 gear would be R and 4 would be D and the park 1st gear on the shifter ( hope that makes sense) also would it be possible to then add sport mode or kick down... ?

 

I'd hate it if the game forced it that way.

If anything, make it a control mode in between full manual and full automatic.
That way players can choose what level of control they have.

 

That's how real auto work mate... You like it in arcade mode, where brake is reverse ? This way you can select P,R,N,D,2,1,SPORT,ECO With the gears im saying so you can have its like a real auto where you move a slider on in this case between gears 3 and 4.

 

Your right, it is how real life autos work, if I want to deal with that then I'll just go for a drive IN my real life auto instead of playing a game.

Nice thing about the fact that it is a game is that different options can be put in to allow everybody to play the way they like. There is absolutely no reason to try and force everybody to play the same way you want to. If it was an option, then you could play the way you like having to manually switch to reverse, and those of us that don't want that hassle can keep the brake/reverse method. Everybody wins.

 

Yes well not all of us have a car or even an auto, I only have manual cars. I'm not trying to force every one to drive this way or the "way i want it" I am merely suggesting an idea which i think would improve the game for many people. I agree I think an option to choose would be good but that is up to the devs. If you want to play an unrealistic game which is like an arcade game then why not play some other games "Forza, NFS etc... "

 

lol, pretty much every game made offers down/reverse for automatic transmissions.

Oh yeah I think it should be like ROR, you have a config before you start where you can select stuff like brake/reverse... Dont worry about it mate.
