No, it's not going to happen.

    Steam Workshop doesn't allow for:
    • Moderation
    • Helping Modders
    • Checks
Not to mention Humble Bundle users (that choose to not use Steam) cannot use Steam Workshop!

We have our own system here: http://www.beamng.com/resources/
It is built with similar ideas, but it can have more and more features.
    It does allow for:
    • Moderation
    • Helping Modders
    • Checks
    • Automatic Mod Installation
    • Manual Mod Installation
    And more to come..

One of biggest thing is that nobody controls what an user is upload on the Steam Workshop
Unless they are reported, but then that's too late..
    Our own system instead yes.
All the mods in there are pre-approved by our team (@meywue and @synsol) . We check all the mods before they go public.
If a mod doesn't work, they help the modder on getting things to work out.

That's how you use our system if you do not how:

Ill make fun of the language barrier later.

    what? why?

Aren't humble bundle users given the option to get their own steam key?

While i am dropping just my two cents here, i am pro-workshop, while the issues that you stated are real, i am not someone that likes to keep games and mods installed at the same time, while workshop can keep track of my mods and keep them up to date when i re-install the game, or not.

Its one of the reasons why i hate the 3rd party mod manager for, say, ArmA, which forces you to remember what mods you have when you reinstall the game

Eh, it's already relatively easy and quick to download mods.

Now SpintiresNL maps on the other hand? Impossible.

Humble Bundle users have a choice to use a Steam Key or a DRM-Free version (Steam-less).

We plan to have some kind of 'Subscription' stuff (also for automatic mods update)

This would be great, this is a little bite hard to keep all mods updated, this is for that I pretty much use no mods

The reason given by the devs is a very valid reason, and it is a good reason, as it will allow for more high quality mods for users to use instead of crappy broken mods that barely work. It also allows non steam users to install mods.
