    Idea

I'm not sure if anyone else here ever played a game called 1nsane, but it was basicly BeamNG on windows XP.

Think open world race game with destructible vehicles.

The best game mode by far was called Jamboree which was a variation of a class based off-road race which would work well in BeamNG.

    Method

On each map was about 15 gates, in order to win you had to beat the AI / other players to whichever gate was illuminated.
Once a player passed through the current gate the next one illuminated and it becomes a race to that one instead.
The winner is the player who has passed through the most gates out of the 15 at the end of the race.

1nsane also had a vehicle destruction system like BeamNGs and resetting your vehicle triggered a 5s countdown.

    Logic

This would work well in BeamNG for the following reasons:

    1. Destructible vehicles mean you have to gauge the balance between dangerous / fast routes and safe / slow routes.
    2. One "Race" actually has (if my maths is correct) 225 different possible routes.
    3. The vehicle destruction, whilst BeamNGs biggest strength is also its biggest weakness as it makes races to difficult to play casually. With this game mode you are never really out of the race due to damage because even if you are very far away from the checkpoint due to resetting etc the next checkpoint which illuminates could be near to you giving you a huge advantage over the previously leading players.
    4. it is a proven concept in a game which is very similar to BeamNG.

    Example:

Note this video does not demonstrate the games damage well however for an average player it was a large factor.

It sounds like a great idea and sure everybodu would love to eventually play it. However there are only a couples maps that would allow this type of game made as there needs to open areas instead of dense forest with only roads to get places, like ECU, JRI, DRI, Utah or even cliff that has nit roads. The only current map i can think of that would work for this is small island becuase it very open and maybe the italy map when that comes out.

I'm all for this, I loved 1nsane and played loads of it. I think this would translate to BeamNG very well.

Half of the challenge is figuring out how to get there, I actually think Utah would work very well for this game mode.
There are probably too many trees on some maps like east coast but I think the real challenge the devs would face implementing this is the AI.

Saying that, I know the AI aren't finished yet so there is every possibility it will be possible to implement later on.

I'd like to know if the Dev's have ever considered this nevertheless.

Let's not forget that the engine that 1nsane used was a much better version of the engine used in the venerable SLRR.
