Hi, I think to parts are attached too firmly!

after a major accident, some parts should logically be ripped! while it remains attached to the vehicle! (Such as doors or bumper).

Stuff seems to come off pretty easily for me :p

That hunk of metal is the hood. The doors, fenders, bumpers, exhaust line, and tailgate are strewn about the map as well.

Aside from the missing parts, notice how undamaged the truck is? Still drove perfectly. No severe accidents happened.

Mmmm, you're right, it should depend on how the game calculates the impact.

I think the damage model is mostly good since when you crash you actually compress the part into your vehicle. It is really difficult to latch one part and attempt to rip it off.

most parts are detaching realisticly i think, only thing i wounder about are the door hinges.
i reached physical accelerations of 40 G while barrelrolling the car on 200+ km/h and the doors wouldn't rip off unless they would touch the ground to get crushed off.
im not sure how much car doors weight, neither how much the hinges can take, but 40 G is some serious acceleration and weight i would assume.

IMO some parts come off too easy, like fenders.

    They also never do this:

    (imported from here)

I want a car that'll rip in half if I slide into a pole fast enough! :D

I do not know if it is possible that a car rip in half, but it would be really mad!

I agree. The Grand Marshall and Moonhawk almost "shred" apart. Maybe a more robust particle scheme to convey the brittles like glass and hard plastic
debris that seem to be everywhere in real life collisions and the metal stays attached to the frame except for the most violent rollovers or tree/forest impacts.

Sheesh, am I getting picky now?:p

I believe this is about right.

What can be wrong though is the simulation of hinges, screws and bolts securing parts in place. If you take this into account, there could be some differences. But I would imagine that many of the parts need about the same force to be ripped off as in real life.

But there should be hinges and fastening mechanisms in place, and simulation of force on this.

I will ensure you though, the parts sit very firmly in place in real life too, I have both seen and experienced some high speed crashes. Sometimes you would think it would look different.
