Re: Desert truck Oh my God it looks amazing! I can't wait to drive it at high speed on offroad terrain
Re: Desert truck I agree, have been following this from the start and i can tell this is some quality work, not being rushed either i like the way its turning out. Wooo
Re: HellPig Thanks everyone . I know progress is slow, but steady! I got a fulltime job, and on top of that I make a lot of overtime. So when I get home I'd usually prefer to play a game rather than working on this. Here's my progress of the day: -Took the radiator from my YJ buggie I made for RoR, placed it in a vertical way, and added another one on the other side of the truck. -Modeled the coils and brackets that mount them to the valve cover. -Radiator hoses and fittings (Dont mind the screwy fitting at the bottom, I forgot to delete one). -Small stuff not worth mentioning.
Re: HellPig He's making jeans now? Wow, quite the talented individual. Anyway, the n/b looks really nice so far.
Re: HellPig Looking good! Definitely can't wait for this. Once its released we need a train to crash it into like Fast 5!
Re: HellPig I agree, the community generated content on this forum is awesome. Patiently waiting to put this Hell Pig through the mud/sand pits or have a climb of with the buggies i have
Re: HellPig Yes, a lot. I just do not always have the time/mood to inform you guy on the progress, nor can I really show changes I made to the node beam chassis when all I did was tweaking it, even though it's a lot. Anyways; swaybars. Ignore floating parts etcetera, I did not have the time to make a proper pic. (imported from here)
Re: HellPig Just a quick question regarding the vehicle design: isn't it too front heavy? I mean, the engine is mid to front mounted, and then there's the cabin way up in front. I imagine if this thing takes off a small ramp at high speed, it will try to frontflip as soon as it gets some air time. Do you have any plans to move the center of mass to the geometrical center of the vehicle? As an idea, maybe transforming it into something like those Dakar Rally Trucks? That way, you can add something on the back of the vehicle to make it a bit more balanced.
Re: HellPig It's controllable, I notice it's a bit front heavy, but it does not instantly nosedive on every jump. The 2 framerails, shocktowers, engine cage, engine, trans, transfercase, axle, wheels and all the extra stuff will weigh about 2500kg total and are relatively balanced. The cab with cage is around 350kg which is all the way up front, that's only a small fraction of the weight of the rest, so I don't expect too much issues with it.
Re: HellPig Seriously this is my most anticipated vehicle I have followed it since the start. You are doing an amazing job, looks amazing. Please don't cancel like the other 2 cool ones (both by dkutch what happened?) but again keep up the good work and I can't wait to wrap that long frame around a tree haha
Re: HellPig Thanks everyone . Added some tubing to support the seats and steering wheel/orbital, and other small fixes. I've made the swaybars in the n/b chassis so it doesnt have 45 degree bodyroll anymore.
