Has some bugs, but I thought you could have some fun with it already . There is a already preloaded version, but if you load up it with more rocks, don't use the ~6900 kg one, that's causing clipping for some reason. T and F control the halfpipe, O the tailgate. Known bugs: Wiggely piston top when fully moved in Wiggling tailgate when operated Halfpipe can move around a bit on the frame Hydraulic lines move with the piston Halfpipe has some minor shading problems Main piston isn't limited Tailgate is missing it's pistons (invisible) To the ones having fps problems with a T series and a dry van trailer, please inform me if this is any better (it should be). Also, this thing may not be technically correct, all I did was watching some videos and looking at some photos (the intention for this was a die cast model out of my childhood. Always stay a kid ). If someone has pictures of the cylinder and it's hydraulics, that would be awesome. Do not redistribute
I like, however the correct terminology for these is "Half round" Also the frame seems excessively beefy, Not that that is bad thing, only that it would be so heavy wouldn't be able to load the trailer to anywhere near it's capacity. Also most of the half-round dumps don't even have a true "frame", as the bed itself is strong enough to support itself and the load.
I don't know about the US, but the name halfpipe is definitely correct, as well as the weight of the trailer (around 6 tonnes) and the frame. That one might be a bit thick though, I think I'll edit it a bit. Take a look at German Meiler halfpipes[PDF], after which this is made mostly. I've never seen something like in your pictures, interesting design, I guess those are not allowed here, for safety reasons maybe.
That's true, I started the tailgate today (one of the more fany ones that are attached like the ones in the upper pictures, so load won't get stuck, fits best for the rather large rocks in BeamNG) and thought "where do the pistons go?" - ah, that's were they hide, in the boarder . About the piston join, seems like there are different designs: I think I'll go with the one you posted for a smaller version that will sit on a extended T75 frame, to give it some variety.
Progress added tailgate, operate with O (WIP part) Added thick boarder, thanks to @Samuel1995 made the frame thinner, defiantly looks better, thanks to @Peterbilt for pointing that out added the opportunity to load rocks from the parts menu, added a preloaded config. Saves a lot of time some redefining to the halfpipe, added a set of middle nodes for better deformation I updated the file in the first post.
Hello, I like the idea of this and I was asking if you just put the zip in the mods folder and find it in the up fit on the T-series?
Yes, put the zip in the mod folder and attach it to a T series with the couplers (L), just like the official dry-van-trailer.
Awesome mod, really like it so far. The only bug that I found that you didn't mention is there seem to be a few nodes that stick down from the frame. I don't know if you were thinking more of doing a Euro style halfpipe or a US style end dump (that's what I've always called them), but I can get you pretty much any reference picture you want of an end dump. Also most US style end dumps have a walking beam/biscuit suspension for stability. It looks something like this. And I wouldn't worry about the halfpipe moving around on the frame a bit, that's actually pretty realistic for something this large.
Yep, I made the frame thinner but forgot about adjusting the jbeam according to that. Though this is meant to be a European stile halfpipe I also like the US-system Peterbilt showed, later I may make a version like that, too. Thanks for offering help anyways! No idea what kind of suspension setup the European ones have, I took the wheels, suspension, landing gear and kingpin from the dry van. About the moving I think the sideways movement is a bit too much, but jbeaming the two "noses" at the lower front half of the pipe should fix that already, I just didn't get to do it so far.
