The forces causing the bus to crash are mainly the wheels and wheel hubs, In BeamNG the wheels are the least stable part of the game. On the school bus for some reason this is amplified, I don't know if its because of the body jbeam or maybe the extra things inside the bus (seats, phones, etc.) for example if you remove the wheels, seats, and stuff inside the bus it no longer crashes jbeams are very complex, tracking down an instability is hard even for the Devs and this with their advanced knowledge of jbeam and physics.(This is why the wheels are still buggy to some extant).It can be fixed but it will be a while unless I get personalized help from a Dev. In the next update I plan to tackle some stability issues but with my limited knowledge of jbeam, phyics and limited time the bus wont be perfect. The wrong calculations can cause severe crashes even if its off by a small percentage. For now I try to keep the crashes from being super hard espeacially near the wheels, if you want super hard crashes you'll have to remove the wheels and possibly the seats, but a fix is coming.
It's going well but progress is slow for now, I started the textures once the textures are done its ready for game testing, the jbeam is about 70% done
No but I deleted all the old schoolbus stuff. Theres an option for a driver but he doesnt show up where I can see him on the bus --- Post updated --- I found an empty file in the old vehicles folder and deleted it let me check again --- Post updated --- Now he shows up. Thankyou --- Post updated --- Why is he glued to the bus though?
I had a passenger in each seat in one of my test but it was so buggy that I doubt it would be approved for final release, when 2 driver stigs touch each other they explode and crash the physics, if 13 driver stigs touched each other it would probably melt our computers I need to find a fix that will make the stig driver more stable, or create a new stig driver from scratch. As it is, even the single stig driver causes higher instability to the bus, in order to have less system crashes during a strong collision remove the stig driver. The current fix for this is to clear the cache and remove all mods except for the bus, the known mod that causes this issue is the "more parts" mod
Its still going to plan, I'm nearly done with the textures and hope to post some snapshots of the new body, at the current pace I hope to have it in game in about 3 weeks! much faster than I previously calculated
