If you happen to find some other things, like a ferry in jri.. Yes they are known and used in some maps..

 

I remember that the ferry could be found somewhere around jri but I can't seem to find it anymore for some reason.

 

today i found something in the steam folder, if you go to the steamapps folder you will see a folder named common. then click downloading, go in there and click on a folder with various numbers on it, there is says campaigns, and there is some un-openable .png images

 

What do you mean? I don't see any files in here.

 

Thats the folder steam uses to download stuff (Updates, Games, DLC, etc)
Probably un-openable because steams process is using it
Feel free to prove me wrong otherwise

And if this tanker explodes, then I'll probably shoot a car through it, like one of them old police chases 'n stuff.

Anyway, looks like UV-mapped trailers can be added to the upcoming update feature list.

There might be an option to fill it with gas, like as an option in the part selector.

 

And if thermals were added to the gas-laden trailer, that thing would go POOF up in flames in a matter of 2 seconds, considering how flammable gas is.

Tanks like this doesn't simply explode, only fumes are flameable, you can't set a fire liquid gas, this things are relatively safe, have a lot of safety features, safety valves to prevent from too much pressure etc. so high temperature shouldn't made it go "POOF". They may be set a fire, but don't simply explode it can burn untill it run out of fuel. Well it isn't impossible, explosions caused by accidents happen from time to time but it's really rare. My father owns gas station (and there I work) and I know it from first hand, also friend, semi truck driver had incident like this, when 2nd trucker hit his trailer with container filled like to like 50%, it got raptured and well fuel just leaked no flames, no explosions.

It would be funny if it turned out that it's tank for transporting milk

 

I blame hollywood for the idea of exploding petrol tankers. I wonder if someone would make a Hollywood version of the tanker when its released.

 

The biggest problem - as i understand - with an exploding tanker would be the fact that materials doesnt rip apart in Beamng atm. While seperat parts could be ripped of a cars body like the hood, you cant rip the hood in two or more pieces. An exploding tanker would need breakpoints of somekind to represent the destruction after an explosion. Would still be cool, but it wouldnt follow the realistic approach the game is taking in generall.

edit: But i wouldnt care about a lack of realism for an over the top effect like exploding tankers. If its working as an gameplay feature why not?

 

At least there is mesh breaking though, making parts of the mesh invisible when e.g. streched too far. So it would at least look like there are holes in it.
Or it's even a tank made out of seperateable pices .
