I'd like to see locked diffs for all the vehicles

Title pretty much says it all. I was having some trouble with the I series today while trying to drift with the race LSD, but only one wheel would spin most of the time. That got me thinking it'd be real nice to have a locked LSD option for any car with enough power to roast the tires, so basically everything but the T series.

I can't mod my way out of a wet paper bag, so I though I'd just put the idea out there for you guys. Devs, modders, anyone, please steal this idea and give us locked diffs for all the cars! Possibly a lockING diff, that would be sweet! If you press ALT+D or something to lock the diff after coming to a complete stop, that way you don't need to go into the parts menu. That's just wishful thinking though, I'd be stoked just to have locked diffs for all the stock vehicles.

Please accept this picture of my cat as payment. Thank you.

Easily done. I've so far added welded rear diffs to covet and jalkku's golf. Can't upload them now cause I'm on holiday away from home.

Look how the welded diffs are done on official vehicles and mimic them. You may have to replace the "120" in the guide I linked with "4000" or smt to get it locked.

    (I mean here:
    "differentials": [
["wheelName1", "wheelName2", "type", "state", "closedTorque", "engineTorqueCoef"],
    ["FL","FR", "lsd", "closed", 120, 1]
    ], )

You just have to get your hands dirty now.

I'm not gonna lie, all that makes NO sense to me D: Thanks though, I'll attempt to figure it out without ruining my game lol

Just found it (I'm actually surprised by myself lol), and I changed the next to last character to 4000, and it didn't work. I can roast a single tire in place lol. I'mma try putting "SMT" in place of 4000 and see if that does anything good.

Nope, didn't work. Putting SMT in place of 4000 made the game not spawn a vehicle at all lol. I got it working again like normal, but still no locked diff :(

Uhm, "smt" means "something", as in he means you can put whatever you want there. It's not a reserved term for any jbeam, so no wonder it didn't work. :)

Any vehicle that has a racing lsd differential also has the ability to tune the cross torque between the wheels ingame; just drag the slider found under the "Tuning" menu under "Transmission" to the max, which is plenty enough to lock the differential under almost all circumstances

I also support the idea of welded diffs on all cars and welded front diffs.

Looks like that helped quite a bit! It's still not locked, but works a hell of a lot better than before. Thanks :)

you could also just look in the Jbeam of a car with a welded diff and copy it to your "locked" diff to actually lock it.

In the next version of my high power car pack mod, I'll add locked front and rear diff options to every single car except the t series

Why "except" the T-series? That thing needs a locked diff just as much if not more than a lot of the others!

Good point, I'll see about adding diffs to all vehicles. It depends on how they are set up (vehicles with separate differential parts are easy, but vehicles that have the differentials built into the transmission or engine will be more difficult to modify)

I was about to make a mod that includes (only) locked diffs for all cars but I'm still on my holiday. But thanks for making it @Spaceballs the Username so I don't have to do it :)

Also once you get the mod @Levy3Poop, if you modified any official files when experimenting with jbeam (meaning you went to content/vehicles/car_you_modded.zip and edited it instead of making new files under mods/) I'd recommend deleting the .zips you modified and then verifying cache in steam. This way you won't have any problems with future updates or mods etc.

This is gonna make me look really dumb on here with all you guys, but I have no idea what 95% of that last part meant >.< Thanks for the help though lol

And thanks @Spaceballs the Username for making locked diffs :)
