i think there might be something wrong with the way the game processes shadows?

    If i put the shadows on high, normal, or low, i always get the exact same FPS. about 18. If i go to lowest i get about +30-40 FPS. I dont think it would be my graphics card because i play skyrim, gta, etc with good shadows and they dont cause any performance drop. but just in case,

    my graphics card is a Nvidia Geforce GT 630M 2GB.

    Lowest turns off all the vegetation shadows as far as I know. At 18 fps something else may be bottlenecking you graphically that isn't the shadows such that changing their resolution (high, medium, low) doesn't affect your framerate.

    With a 630M you are not going to get good performance in BeamNG.drive, especially not on vegetation-intensive maps like Dry Rock Island.

    true, logoster, sorry :( i wasnt trying to post the same question in a different thread though. I was thinking it of a separate question that had to do with just shadows. anyhow, thanks for the help. im still new here so idk how to delete this post :(

    again my bad logoster, didnt mean for it to sound like the same question...although i guess now that i look at it, it is kinda the same question :/
