I'm one of those people that usually torrent games before they buy it, and that's exactly what I did. I torrented this game, but after sitting on this for hours on end, I bought the game. A huge thank you to the devs, for making a insanely realistic physics game. I did it everybody, I did it.
I've bought many games for full price that shouldn't be worth anything, and some places won't return them because of serial numbers and what not. Also, some of us aren't blessed with fortune. Edit: Needless to say, I was impressed by it and I really want to see more.
i pirated minecraft for a while because i don't own a credit card but after like 3 months i got some money in pay pal to buy it, i Discovered BeamNG by a gameplay video made by 2awesomegamers when i 1st saw it i did not know it ill work on my pc.i got the tech demo and after like 1 day i decided to buy the full game
The more simple techdemo map ran much better on my PC than any of the non-grid maps in the game, so it's not an entirely accurate representation of what you can expect to experience in the full game compared to someone actually experiencing the full game with their hardware. Granted, I wouldn't have regretted buying it either way. What I payed for wasn't a game in my mind, it was the funding of an amazing project. I don't actively support piracy, but I don't condemn it either. It is what it is, it will always exist, and there will always be people who abuse it to never pay a dime to any entertainment industry, people who use it to demo the real thing before they buy it, those who crack games they bought so they can escape all of the obtrusive DRM, and those who use it to experience a quantity of entertainment otherwise outside of their budget. The only thing I do condemn is the use of aggressive DRM and copy protection which inconvenience the actual customers far more than they inconvenience the pirates, just to delay the inevitable piracy by maybe a week, often less. Edit: Though I must say, making a thread about you having bought the game explicitly under the context of "I pirated it before I did, so it's special!" seems a bit silly.
Also bought this after playing the tech demo for many hours and having way more fun than I would with some $80 title from EA Looking forward to seeing where the devs can take this in the future!
When I was young, pirating games was the only way to play anything. Now I pirate them before buying them, because I gave way too much for a f*cked up game (The new Simcity)
I never pirate games. I also never spend more than like $30 on a game either. (Except for a couple times when the game was so appealing like Sims 3 when it came out) I usually just wait until the price goes down. I don't like it when people pirate games from big game companies like EA but when people pirate indie games.. That's just a lot worse.
I paid $60 for SimCity and playing it was SO good, it had such cool 'features' like: - servers busy - 30+ minutes waiting queue - no offline play - fucking epic DRM - crashes - server drops - 2x2km area which is filled after 3 hours of play - traffic congestion when you have 10k+ population - no tunnels and bridges - terrain glitches everywhere - RCI totally wrong - some buildings stop working - utility vehicles (like fire trucks) going all at once at the same destination, continuing to drive around it and not doing anything which causes half of my town to burn to the ground - utility vehicles stop dispatching after a certain amount of time - scoreboard not working - multiplayer filter disabled (which means that I had to scroll 15 minutes to find a game which I can join in) - global economy not working - Glassbox Engine f*cking up after 5+ hours of play - and many MANY more Most of them were fixed with the patches that came after the game was released. The patch that fixed the traffic congestion was 5 months after the game's release and they added tunnels and bridges with the SEVENTH patch which came last month. And in that time they continued to release $5 DLCs which included stupid looking buildings, just because they can. It was released for Mac this week (or last week) and it's currently unplayable for some players. So, yeah, I'm gonna continue to pirate every game before I buy it, because I don't want to waste money and time on stupid games.
