Don't get rid of the whole tunnel, just get rid of the back. You can put rocks in the front like the tunnel closed in on itself but there is no back part of the tunnel.
Yes...that was my idea. A sign at the entrance "Tunnel closed because of bad FPS. Waiting for better Hardware"
Man, FPS is bad because map has lot of polygons, maybe you'll concentrate on jump? not on shops and etc?
If you want just a jump... http://www.beamng.com/threads/ski-jumping.26428/ ...this is for you! I have claims...and I want to release a good-looking map, with a lot of things to discover and to explore. Just be patient, I won't disappoint you! At the moment, the framerate is bad...but I'm working on it. Until the first beta-version, the frames will be above 50 FPS with my hardware. Maybe I have to reduce the texture-quality, or the amount of polygons...maybe cancel some "features" (like the tunnel)...but the first release should run nearly perfect with current average hardware.
Make sure you're making full use of T3D's occlusion volumes and zones. They might not be as good as the ones in say, UE or Source, but they're still pretty powerful tools for increasing FPS. They should especially help with the tunnel.
@ Scepheo: Never thought about it! But thanks! I don't know how to use the occlusion volumes...but I found it...and I will try to use them...if I figure out how they will work! The last few days I had no time to continue this map. We went to Cologne and Neuwied...visited the family and so on! But today...I started to create the upper platform. Not finished yet...but a small preview. Hope you like it. BTW...framerate is quite good now. I created LOD meshes for the ramp and the grandstands...frames are between 40 and 60. But i am still working on it!
I need help! I created a digital sign that says "WARNING: It is not recommended, to jump off at more than 200 kph!" ...is the spelling and grammar okay? I'm from germany, sorry...
I would say "It's not recommended to jump off at more than 200 kph!" --- Post updated --- Aw man you beat me to it
Sorry...the last few days no big updates. Too much work to do beside virtual life I work as a shop manager in a big german supermarket...at least 60 hours per week. The weather is deadly...too much customers But for today...I started to design the starting platform! Much room for VIP-guests and/or television! Hope you like it. Give me some suggestions and/or ideas!
Sorry...Like I said a few postings ago. I am just working more than 60 hours per week, so I have no time to continue this map. I think the next big update will come between friday and sunday next week. Between 7 and 20 September, I will go on vacation. I planned to release a beta-version a few days before, so that you can test the map and report bugs.
