I think everyone who's played dry rock island knows cars can drive underwater

Reminds me of James Bond's Lotus submarine using the Civetta Bolide underwater :). Dev's should fix it soon enough.

Doesn't really matter much in my opinion.
(I tried to make that sound non-jerk attitude)

That reminds me, cars should act realistic in water as in water gushes in when the car is kinda floating. in waves the car should be lifted up, also if theres ever going to be water physics, and a wave is flooding down a road when it touches the car with force, the car should move

This is a joke or something? :D

I think there is more important things to do than make cars engines shut off underwater.

Not to sound like a douche, but I think you underestimate how hard it is to implement dynamic water.

Yeah, dynamic water would take too much of the Dev's time...

Thanks, but I know that, that's why I suggested it...

I am pretty sure of this, They fixed one issue but added another. They fixed the issue where the car just suddenly slows down in water, but whilst fixing that they added a bug of using engines in water. This wasn't a bug earlier, the engine would cut off.

Dynamic water : Was in RoR, most likely coming to BeamNG, how was he underestimating the easiness of adding it when all he was doing is saying how cool it would be when stuff happens?

Obviously engines shut off in RoR, I think everybody knows that.

This is a easy to fix bug that has most likely been fixed already anyways.

Proper engine simulation hasn't been coded yet thus this was never a feature. It'll likely be added when engine simulation is coded.

I posted this a while ago in suggestions, and I've seen it mentioned elsewhere also.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I'm just pointing out that you are in fact, not the first to mention this.

also, I doubt that these things will be coming along very soon. It seems to me sorting out playability issues is priority number one for the devs.

out of curiosity, did you search before posting? after a short search I found this same suggestion posted here: Some-idea-for-beamNG-drive
as well as my thread: Water-interaction-and-Physics .

OK????? What is your point? I believe that I did search, and found nothing. It was probably just bad keywords...

See? I looked, didn't find anything.

The water always slowed the vehicles down, because it uses vehicle' aerodynamics to calculate their drag in the water [*].

Engine water damaging has been added to the development version, and it'll be released in the next update.

[*] We don't yet simulate boyancy, but when we do, working submarines will be possible.

    *Bold added by me.

You know whats funny, i had this exact thought earlier. Im glad i seen this and cant wait to try it out

Also will hitting water at high speeds and certain speeds do damage in the future?
Say falling from a 300ft ramp landing with your front end facing downwards, will crumple the front end type of thing

You read his post yet you failed to extract the very first line from it.

What do you think that tells you, hm?
