Close enough. Doesn't help my body gets iffy in the heat. I can't do much work when it's above 80, I go into limp home mode.
The worst place to be in the heat is a British school classroom. Get 30 sweaty 14 year olds who are still learning what personal hygiene is, put them in a room with no air conditioning and for good measure make it like a greenhouse due to the sun facing wall being half glass with only 2 opening panes. If you want to make it truly hell like throw in a dull teacher
When I was still at school, I loved being in the IT rooms. They were air conditioned and we had swivelling office chairs.
If your a girl too maybe that's not so fun. When I was 14 I would have figured out how to turn that lemon into lemonade if you catch my drift.
look, i'm not trying to say that with humidity it's not bad, i know it can be bad, but my point is that even without humidity the heat still sucks and yes, we do have air conditioning here, it's a pretty standard thing here in the USA, at least from what i've seen but i do enjoy going outside when possible, be it to mow or just sit outside and enjoy the outside (yes i'm one of those people who likes to mow and keep their lawn nice), but it's not really all that fun in 110F heat unless you have a pool or something (we don't because pools are expensive)
Over here going outside is really nice because its colder than inside Mainly because just like pools, air con is expensive. Also it's not that environmentally friendly either, but if you live somewhere very hot (aka not the uk 85% of the time) then it is a necessity otherwise people start to die of heat exhaustion (which does happen to old people in the uk due to lack of air con).
Stepping into a business, government building, or house built within the last 100 years without aircon is really rare here. It hasn't been too hot here lately; mid-80s in the day and low-60s during the night. I have a screened-in porch that I like to spend time in during the day. Listenin' to the birds and shit.
On Saturday it will be 90 degrees and something like 82% humidity predicted. I fucking hate Ohio. You freeze to death in the winter, then you just get dumped straight into boiling hot temperatures. We don't have a Spring or Autumn. West coast people really have no idea, you gotta live here, man.
Got it up to 25 degrees here in Kent yesterday. Then by 16:00, heavy rain, flooding and lightning storms. Because if the British have nice weather, nature balances things out.
Lincolnshire is still warm, hopefully some of those balancing measures hit soon (although hopefully not while im outside xD)
