Ever since I took the 6.0.1 marshmallow OTA update.. my phone has been "unstable". At first I loved it it was quick, battery lasted longer... now it's the total opposite. WIFI is slow to load and always throws up errors and loads the page a second after the page throws the error up. APPS Apps like facebook chrome and Instagram don't load after the phone is woken up out of sleep mode. (Example picking the phone back up after 10 or so minutes of idle.) This requires me to shut down every app and restart them to for them to load and repeat this process over and over. (Usually Facebook shows "cannot connect right now") And Instagram won't load anything unless it's shutdown and restarted. Overall browsing speed of apps has gone down hill also, it takes forever for pictures and videos to load on FB or chrome and sometimes won't load at all. WiFi connection is stable verified with 200+ Mbps down and 25 up connected to a netgear night hawk router. Cleared cache multiple times Reset network settings Deleted said apps and redownloaded them Reset settings Wiped cache partition Phone still has 32GB left of storage I'm at lost, I'm ready to downgrade back to lollipop that's how frustrated I am lol. Any reasons why performance has just took a dump? Thanks in advance.
i had the same thing happen with my nexus 7 when i updated it to 5.0.0 android since then it was pretty much a brick and really slow and unusable
but with the nexus google did it because alot of people i know the 7 bricked itself after the update but when patching back it worked just fine.
Hmm, I'm not sure why your WiFi keeps dropping, nor do I see why your apps would be slightly broken (in terms of usability). I'm running the Marshmallow development branch on my Xperia z3 (official development branch), one of the things that was picked up on the dev forums is the WiFi scanning, for some reason it used a lot of battery at the time, it could drain the battery from 100% in just one day (not sure if it still does, I've never turned it back on), so you could always try turning that off. You could always go into developer options located in the settings (look online how to access the dev tab) and activate "Don't keep activities" or make the "background process" regulation more strict; hopefully this will indicate if an app is causing issues in background, you could always see which apps are using the most battery in the battery tab in options, and you can even see the average RAM usage which may suggest lack of RAM. Hope this helps troubleshoot some issues. If nothing else works, it might be worth installing completely fresh with no apps or anything stored in memory.
I also don't know why performance has gone down hill. When the 6.0.1 OTA was first released it was running excellent no problems at all, I loved it. It was faster, less battery drain and overall a huge improvement over lollipop now it's the total opposite. People are telling me to downgrade back to lollipop as this 6.0.1 update has having wifi and other problems. I kind of don't want to though, as I still (with these problems) prefer it over lollipop. Wouldn't that have showed up when I first installed 6.0.1 a few months ago, why only now it has it become noticeable.
