    What?
Any PCIe expansion card (including graphics cards) will work with any CPU, granted it uses PCIe (just about anything newer than ~2004), has enough PCIe lanes available (shouldn't be a problem with all but the most extreme systems), and the motherboard has a PCIe slot that is the correct length. Most GFX cards will use a PCIe x16 slot.

yes, when the time comes ill be selling my 960 on kijiji or something like that, and getting a 1070. but that might take a while until other manufacturers have a chance to make their own cards, cause im not shelling out of the founders edition.

Not even in the slightest. It's only ~15-20% faster than a Fury X, and my R9 380 is still relatively new.

    I'm guessing I'm in a bit of a minority.

a 1080 is about 3x your gpu if overclocked

    the 380 is about my 7950 at 1100mhz 1500mem

The founder is always my favorite, but of course we all have preferences. I sold mine early because I had an extra gpu (which will go back on the display soon once I get the 1080) and if you sell it before official release it will cost a bit more! Is kijiji a Canadian craigslist?

3x? Not one benchmark demonstrated even 2x improvement with overclocked GPUs...

A crossfire 7950 give about the performance of a furyx - 980ti.. with about 90% scaling in high resolution.

The 1080 benchmark show it about 20% + faster than a titan x

And you can already reach 2ghz clock that mean another 10-20% with vram overclock...... + it ref so aftermarket like classified and king pin should reach even higher if tdp is not the issue

Yeah it a Canadian craigslist. I don't want to go though the troubles of shipping anything, so that is easiest. I still have the box for mine too, so that will make it easier to resell

Don't bother with the so called "Founders edition" its just a path to stupidly high temperatures and thermal throttling which then throws the "GPU boost" out the window so while the card might boost to over 1886Mhz you will be running way down at the 1607Mhz base clock for the most part. The founders edition is simply illogical and overpriced.

    Wait for after market.

Umm, could you explain it more clearly. Because your logic is falling apart everywhere.

Damn how no one on this damn forum can understand me when i have no issue elsewhere...

    My logic..

Crossfire 7950 that probably beat or equivalent or a bit less powerful than FURY X AND 980 TI SORRY FOR ERROR. Depending on resolution

That perform almost as good as fury x and 980ti in game and benchmark ( amd scaling is ways better at 5760x1080 + and 4k + ))

The 1080 beat by 20-30% a titan x without any overclock...

I said add KINGPIN AND CLASSIFIED CARD Evga top of the line aftermarket card with binning on the kingpin..

And your sure gonna reach higher clock than current benchmark at 1.9-2ghz

So another 10-20% + on the top of the 20%-30%

And you are now in some game having 3x the fps as the 380. If not more in some game.

1080 beat 980 sli in lot of benchmark even if they scale well

I cant do better than that... :\

Because your english is genuinely poor and full of gibberish and I genuinely have no idea what you just said or what you're referring to in relation to quoted post

You make very little sense and your english is really confusing to read.

If you're saying the R9 380 performs almost as good as the Fury X and 980TI you are massively wrong, its way off.

The difference between a 1080 and a Titan X is no where near 30%, more so around 10% on average. A nicely overclocked Titan X card can match the 1080 quite easily.

The 1080 still gets beat out by the 980 in SLI in most games, but that of course has all the downsides of SLI so the single 1080 is always a better choice.

Allow me to try and quantify your logic so that everyone knows what you are talking about (including myself). Please correct me where needed.

    2 HD 7950 in crossfire is approximately equal to R9 380 (7950 CF ≈ R9 380)
R9 380 is slightly below Fury X and GTX 980Ti
    GTX 1080 is 125% of Titan X (GTX 1080 = 1.25 * Titan X) GTX 1080 is 115% of 125% of Titan X (GTX 1080 = 1.15 * 1.25 * Titan X)
GTX 1080 is greater than 2 GTX 980 in SLI (GTX 1080 > 980 SLI)
Therefore, GTX 1080 is 3 times better than R9 380?

I'm lost. You didn't compare the R9 380 to anything you compared the GTX 1080 to. And much of your logic is false. A single 7950 performs about 90% as well as an R9 380 (PassMark comparison). An R9 380 is miles away from a Fury X or GTX 980Ti.

Oh crap i was sleepy on that one.....

I mean fury x and 980 ti not the 380

THe 7950 is close to 380 performance that what i wanted to says...

i was talking to the guy about his 380 that he dont feel the need to upgrade when a 1070 is more than double the performance

There is no reason to quote me since the beginning since i was not talking to any of you...

    --- Post updated ---

Your close... The 7950 overclocked since they overclock super easy... And got 3gb vram at higher bandwith than the crappy 380.

Do perform better at higher resolution

Now what i wanted to says is 2x 380 or 2 7950 are close to fury x and 980ti.... And the 1080 is better than a titan x up to 25% and even more in some game and resolution.

Include overclocking with aftermarket card and you got over 50% over the titan x if not more.

When you think about a titan x with 50% more power.. We realise that the amd card do perform poorly in some game that would = to 3x the performance in a upgrade...

I'm not excited in the slightest since my R9 390 is capable of handling whatever I throw at it so far since I play at 1080P at 65Hz and not 1440P or anything and my CPU definitely holds it back in recent games so that is going to be my next upgrade.
